PS4 GTA V Online
Discussion
Social Club has had XBox One and PS4 added to the platforms - if you select one of them you can see the new races, new vehicles, some new Snapmatic pics etc. I reckon Rockstar view the switch of platforms very much as an update like all the DLC so far - at least in gameplay terms - so I'm starting to think new gen GTA is really the building block for far bigger DLC in future. That could mean map updates and so on.
Looking forward to it anyway. High-res golf in the rain, anyone?

Two videos showing PS4 offline, the quality drops at times but it looks amazing!! The character creator can be seen at 1:01 in the first video, and at the start of the second briefly
Edit: The 2nd video is much better

I havent played GTA since version 1 and running down all those zen Buddhists.
Am I going to enjoy this?
I hadn't played GTA properly since the original Playstation, though I did at least play GTA II as well on that. Getting GTA V for the PS3 last year was a revelation; best game I've ever played. The world you are in feels so real. Enjoy Am I going to enjoy this?
I agree. Ive been playing computer games since the early 80's, and loved them right up to the mid 90's and then lost interest until the Playstation was released.
After having a PS2 I found less and less time to enjoy games.
When GTA V was released on the PS3 I didn't really know a single thing about it, I hadn't heard any of the hype or huge build up!
When it was released my girlfriend came home with it after hearing people say who good it was (she loves games too) and I decided to have a "quick go" to see what it was like.
I was blown away by how good it was! I literally couldn't put it down, and was gobsmacked at how good it was, the depth of what you could do and the shear scale of the map.
It is easily the best game I've ever played, and the PS4 looks to take it to yet another level again.
I remember playing the original Paperboy game on my Spectrum and in the arcade in 1985.
I said at the time, wouldn't it be an awesome game if you could turn and go down the side streets and ride around the town anywhere you want.
I guess that was me thinking about GTA, having a huge city to explore where you liked, rather than having to follow a set level or route.
You could play the game without having to play the game or do what it told you.
Then GTA arrived on the Playstation, the first top down view one, I bought that and finally the game I was after had been made!
I loved that, and got Vice City next, but by now I had lost interest in games in general and didn't get another one until GTA V.
Now I'm hooked! I didn't have a single reason to get a PS4 as there are no games for it that interest me (still waiting for a decent racing game!), but the week GTA was announced for it, I went out and bought one ready.
I'm literally counting down the hours until Monday night

The thing that keeps the interest in GTA5 is online, the ability to play with and/or against others in a free roam world means that its pretty much endless. Even screwing around in freeroam. I've been sat chuckling at antics of the crew, be it launching vehicles across mountain ranges or avenging attacks by other players. Who was it who used to fall asleep playing and you could hear him snoring over the mic ?
The missions/races etc too - its quite funny because you play a mission solo and figure out a way of doing it, then play with others and the plan goes out the window because someone lobs a grenade in or gets a helicopter.
The more Rockstar continue to add to the game - new cars, missions etc the more there is to do. If you ever get bored you can create your own races/missions too. In a way it makes it harder to justify buying other games.
I suspect it will be rather busy this coming week, hopefully the servers will be up to it.
Just in case you aren't aware you'll need PSN+ to play online.

The funny thing for me is, I had no idea at all that there was going to be GTA online!
I started playing it offline totally oblivious that it was coming.
I had completed about 2% of the game (spent most of my time exploring the map) then I saw online appear on the tabs and decided to give it a try.
Little did I know what difference it would make!
A year later and I am still at 2% of story mode, I've not returned to it once
