Yep, T300 RS.

£247 from yoyotech (although think i was robbed now seeing as blanyey got his so cheap!)

Seat was £157 from boystuff.co.uk, by far the cheapest I could find aswell.

Like I said, it's actually made drive club a bearable game now... So hopefully it'll make Project Cars even better.

Plus it's a foldable chair, but you can leave the wheel on, so you can go from living room to race car in a matter of moments.
I have the same when and chair, v easy to attach the shifter. Can send pics of mine if you're interested send me a pm

Alternate

They are German though some it comes with a europlug so it's only a good deal if you already have an adapter.

How is the physics etc?
Well I had a go on a controller yesterday and I got stuck in with the clio cup...after setting up the controls as I like (still some tweaking required) I got to grips with it and....
It's pretty damn perfect! I actually race touring cars and the lift off oversteer the balance of the clio when you set the car up into a corner are all pretty spot on. In fact coming from forza id say its got the best physics of any car game i have played.
to be quick it absolutely needs a wheel but you can have a lot of fun on a controller!

Currently waiting for the 0001 timing!

My wheel and seat arrived today, so got it setup tonight, and started playing driveclub. Was actually enjoying the game for once, but then realised that being 'online' was slowing my download down. no no no. Even if I only get an hour before bed tonight, I will have a go!

Got most of tomorrow to play before I head to thruxton woohoo!

  • anticipation!!!*
Go on, whats the chair like? It looks like an odd position from that picture? Are the pedals in a natural position? Can you get quite laid back? How solid is it when you really start cranking it up?

Quite a bit of lift off oversteer on the Clio cups last night and with the FFB and some quick oppo I had the wheelstand moving around a bit. Quite like the idea that this is all connected to the seat and therefore anchored to me...

I got 12 laps into a clio race last night and the engine blew on its own...that might wear a bit thin as i was in first by 7 seconds.

For those of us using controllers I highly recommend using 'mode 2' in the controller settings.

Backs off the sesitivity and makes things a bit more controllable.

I tried a free run in the McLaren P1 at the California highway with no aids at all and the default settings (mode 3).

Total spin crash fest. Way too twitchy.

Switched to controller mode 2 and managed a first attempt of 8m 22s on my first attempt (world record is 8m 4s). Unfortunately due to a slight slip into the grass in one corner my time is invalidated but I saved the replay!

Ps. Bloody love this game already and all I've done is free runs in various cars.

Aaargh. It's not seeing my Thrustnaster wheel for some reason. What am I doing wrong. It won't let me select anything other than the controller frown

Well I'm impressed. First go was in a Clio around Brands Harch GP - which I have driven in real life on track days - and it is an impressive simulation. It is a bit floaty, the track feels narrower than real life, and there's too much screeching tyres but it's a pretty bloody good job of simulating the real thing.

only about 4 hours in so far but im already pretty impressed with it, the Clio was fun but im now on the Ginetta Junior which is a brilliant little car though cant take any libertys with it especially with kerbs. The A.I. is the best ive personally seen in any racing game so going through the career is actually challenging but most importantly enjoyable as they dont all drive the same so you have to be on guard as they can be aggressive or make mistakes.

On the current M1 Procar Event the top 2 drivers used a controller so it seems you dont need a wheel necessarily to be the quickest (reminds me of F119000rpm smile ) and to be quite honest i would have to be nitpicking to find anything wrong with this game at all.

The fwd road cars handle like boats. If you're jumping in from the off I recommend a caterham. Much more satisfying road feel

I actually dodged a bullet thanks to this thread. Very nearly took the easy way out through Amazon (at £275, yikes!!) with std delivery early next week. Was casually browsing PH and saw someone mention yoyotech. Checked their website and ordered immediately at £250 including next day delivery biggrin
