Had another go last night, three lap race on the Ring in the RUF GT3 - really, really good game.

Thanks again as I've haven't played any games for years and would have discarded it had I not posted here. It really does take practice.
Hold that thought, and buy a swearbox. It can be intensely frustrating.

My first lap was a 1:59:XX only got slower since....Ok so I'm using a pad and have all the assists on (carry over from trying and failing to set a lap time last week) but still I know there must be improvements to be had...

Has anyone else found that since patch 7 came out on PS4 the handling has gone awry?

I use a controller and have never had any issues with the handling but since the patch all rear wheel drive cars feel like they are on ice. Turn into any corner and you'll spin unless you are crawling, this happens in cars running slicks and wings too. It has made the game unplayable. I'm hoping others have found this too and maybe have a solution?

I know this is probably the wrong thread to reply in but the other threads have pretty much died

try that thread mate, some helpful stuff within in it.

If you can ask Santa for a wheel for Christmas as it makes the game soooo much better!

Thanks for that, unfortunately i'd already set my controller to those settings when i first got the game. Before the patch was released all was great, handling was spot on, controller set up nicely and really enjoyed the game. Post patch all the cars are awful in the corners both on entry and exit. FWD obviously not as bad.

Take a formula rookie for example, before the patch you could really throw it around, after the patch its impossible. As soon as you turn it it wants to spin (tried a slower steering rack and tweeking the sensitivity of the comtroller) made no difference

Sorry I can't be any help with the gamepad settings. I used to use a pad occasionally but now I have a permanent rig there's no need. I thought I read that the patch messed up some of the tyre physics. Hopefully they'll fix it back again if that's the case. I find the AI sometimes has far more lateral grip than I do, but I know they run a simpler tyre physics model.

Yeah the gamepad controls have been pretty horrific since release - the latest patch does nothing to resolve the issues.

Funny you mention that, my son and his chum had a go earlier and couldn't play it at all.

Best I can do is 155.31 that's with just ABS and auto gearbox.

What aids if any are you guys using? Shocked I'm 4 seconds off the pace!

Just using ABS and auto clutch for this combo.
Sometimes you just have to add TC and SC when dealing with vicious monsters though smile

Keep chipping away at the laps, setup with a ghost to help show you the way round.

Is quite frisky, new setup PC and steering wheel is in and it is like learning all over again.

Fanatec CSW V2
Fanatec CSP V3
Fanatec CS Shifter
New Mount for it all.

Makes it fantastic but harder, the wheel is full size so a lot of frantic overcorrection, the brake is very stiff so judging it is harder now but will get easier.

Money well spent if anyone is on the lookout for new kit.

In the words of my 12 year old son: "Well Jeal!"
I'm saving for a fanatec setup but it is a lot of money to be able to justify to SWMBO...

So for the combo how about Snetterton 300? that radical is a proper weapon, just needs slicks and some setup!
