Anyone noticed the occasional exhaust pops and burbles? or just me.

I quite often drive an F40 around circuits whilst deliberately opening/closing the throttle just for the pops and bangs.

Just started playing this game last night. Tried out the seasonal F1 event... is it possible to do a credible lap time without a wheel? Using the dualshock is a nightmare!

Trying playing with the sensitivity settings, its deffinatly not easy with a dualshock with the F1, FGT and X2010 cars!

Watched the new intro last night and some of the engine sounds in it are fantastic, I hope they do a patch with better sounds at somepoint!

Would be up for some racing guys, played a bit with my bro inlaw in hot hatchs around Monza love how you can have changable weather.

Has anyone managed to save their progress in an Endurace race yet?

I started one, and after 5 laps paused it to try to see where the 'save' function was.

I couldn't find one.

The other update that appears to have failed to materialise is the ability to change the aggressiveness of opponents in Arcade races.
I could find no such option....

You have to go into the pits to save.

and then use the PS button to exit the game, rather than quitting through the game menu. Same as you do when you save a championship.

Damn I never knew this. I've played the whole series playing the endurance race non stop! Well I'd leave it on pause and then continue after a sleep.

What a LOSER I am!

It's a new feature in v2.0, so unless you've done one since Tuesday you've been doing it correctly.

PHEW! Thought I was a right numpty then.

Might start doing some of those endurance races now then. Got half way through the Tsukba endurance race then turned it off as I got bored.

Just got wind of the 2.0 update, sticking the disc in the ps3 as I type. Also looking at the DLC, I'm so glad they finally decided to put Spa on there!

ETA: Sweet Jesus, 1192MB on a 2MB connection. This is gonna take a while, damn you student accommodation internet!

This can be changed in the main settings screen. When you first load up the game, before going into GT mode, where you can choose arcade mode. On that screen, the little cog button to the right. Its in there under arcade.

Cranked up to 10 its almost like racing in the BTCC but all the other drivers are Matt Neal. Very rarely will they concede a place easily. There is still the usual one line train around some corners early in the race, but once it gets flowing they do manage a half decent job of actualy racing, and not just getting in the way.

Right, thanks for that. Sounds good.

If there are two things that I HATE about GT5 they are:-

1) When you catch a car up, it starts almost coming to a halt on the apex, usually causing you to rear end it.
2) Once you have passed a car it starts lapping 2 secs a lap slower than when you were catching it.

Hopefully this will allow more realistic racing...in Arcade mode anyway.

The handling / physics are definitely improved in v2.0.

Tried the new gtr and my caterham last night as well as some online shuffle races and cara seemed much more predictable and easy to pilot

I swear the engine noises are slightly better too. Not great, but better.

Im thinking the same about engine noises, not sure if i'm just imagining it though. Cant believe I havent had a proper go in the Caterham till this week, its epic.
