I am finding the online part a bit annoying when you're trying to play the story. I found I kept getting interupted by people trying to hack me and I couldn't get anything done! You can turn it off but it erases all your progress in the online part of it. Fortunately I'd barely done anything online yet but I think I'll leave it turned off until the story is done.

Finding the poker fun in this. You can hack the security cards to see the other players cards after the deal, monitor their stress levels to see if they are bluffing and pull up stats on how likely you are to win - just my type of poker!

There's a few dotted around the map, low, medium and high stakes.

don't think you need to be at a certain point but I'm 5 missions into act 2 or so. Try unlocking the ctOS broadcast towers which reveal the activities if you haven't already done so.

OK, after a good few hours spent I'm pleased to say it does get a lot better. Still wouldn't rate it more than a fair to middling as vast swathes of it are still very repetitive and the other issues we've all seen and heard a gazillion times by now. But it's not all as horrible as the first hour or two, and the boy loves it.

I'm really enjoying it. Find it interesting as to how it highlights how vulnerable we are when it comes to finding out personal information online.

I'm stuck. I've got the whole of the police force after me and damien brink is playing around with all the locations I need to upload a hack to. I've tried going out in the sea and waiting for everything to die down but then they come after me again stronger. I tried sitting on the train but they're always waiting for me when I get off lol.

As soon as the mission starts it will show each location, during the mission every so often it will reveal the three hit the mini map button , I set the guide to one of them and use the blackout to stop Damien using ctos

Can't wait for the next game
looks like Aiden will be fighting deadsec next any ideas who they are?

yes Luckily I hadn't bothered doing much online before I relaised how much of a distraction it is so I turned it off but if you've alreayd made progress on that part it must be a massive pain.

Am I right to assume that a certain point in the main mission triggers the online bit? I have only done act 1, but have spent hours and hours working my way through all the land to get all fixer contracts etc, its been enjoyable doing it that way and not the main missions, the reason being I didnt want to spoil it with this online thing. (assuming it does get triggered and not that something is broke with my game).

So far I think the game is really good, I dont know whether thats because there isnt much else on the PS4 at the moment, or that the fact I find it to be a good cross of Sleeping Dogs and Far Cry 3, which are two games I loved.

So that people can't invade others then immediately turn off invasions so they're not invaded themselves. It would be a bit tttish to happily invade other peoples games to boost your own stats then not allow others to invade you. In fact, if it worked like that you'd most likely never find anyone to invade!

Then why not have a online mode? I hate it. I am even getting mission lock outs so I cannot progress untill i find fking hackers. I'm coming so close to rage quitting and returning the game.

This is the way things are going. Dark Souls 2, for instance, opted out of having any way out of online invasions unless you wanted to play offline, missing out on loads of useful tips left by other players. In truth, the invasions weren't really a problem.

Are they such an issue here? My copy should have arrived by post when I get home today.

Put it this way I am 5 missions into act 1, I have been stopped 3 times already from moving on in the game to kill a hacker before I can do the next mission.

They were for me, I was finding I couldn't makie any progress at all in the story as no sooner had I dealt with one hacker then another one appeared, I was strugglign to even get time to get to where the next mission was triggered. They don't start until near the end of Act 1 but once they start it goes crazy, or at least it did on mine! I've not got much time to play at the moment so when I go on, I want to try and get through the story. I'll stick it back on once that's done. smile

What are you talking about? If you have no interest in the online stuff just disable it. Job done. If you have no interest in online mode you won't care about your online notoriety, will you?

Because I want to play it when I want to. Not when the game forces me to play it.
