You can actually take the piss quite a bit with that inside kerb, I discovered later last night it's not that high or bouncy, and you can get at least half your right tyres' width over onto to grass without penalty.
Got down to a 1'00.4 and there's a lot to be done in the first sector, at the moment I'm going down to third for the first corner because while I know it's really fourth, leaving it in fourth pushes me too wide for the second apex! String it together properly and 59s are in reach
though I am finding this circuit seems to make people do stupid things in races, twice had someone rejoin the track right in front of me at high-speed exits - incidents look far more common than at Okayama!

LR is a circuit I grew to love.
It's all about throttle and maintaining speed.
Regards the hill, off gas early, there's a little scuff on the LH side which is a good marker.
Turn in hard and get back on the throttle before you even apex.
This will help rotation and get you on line.
Most, including myself advocate coming off throttle slightly as your rears crest.
Who's on tonight? will be practicing, jump in a session and say hello.
Rick.

I was going to do the inRacingNews series this season, get me out of the slightly suspect lower fields, but it's not fixed setup and I don't really have the time to develop a good base yet. Does anyone have or know of a decent all-round MX-5 setup that I could use, then just trim to suit me and each circuit?

Either check on the iR forums or just use the baseline - it's not a bad setup and you are already used to it!I usually use baselines or setups downloaded from the forums, then tweak the brake balance, aero and diff - they seem to be the most effective things to change the balance of the cars. I don't know if the MX5 can change any of those, if not tyre pressures make a big difference to the feel of the car. But don't get too bogged down in setups, the main area for improvement is usually the driver

Great, thanks - I wasn't sure how daft or otherwise the baseline might be, and I obviously don't want to adapt my driving to something that's not ideal. Naturally I know there's way more time to be found in my toe angles, rather than the car's, but still!I usually use baselines or setups downloaded from the forums, then tweak the brake balance, aero and diff - they seem to be the most effective things to change the balance of the cars. Perhaps I'll test the baseline, then see what changes people are recommending to it on the forums

Out of interest., what setup (wheel, pedals, monitor, etc) setup are you guys using? I'm looking to treat myself to a better setup that my heavily borked G25 and wanted to get some input.
Looking at the T500RS currently.
I'm still using a G25, I'd like to upgrade to one of these...Looking at the T500RS currently.

Same here, although I will go for the CSR Elite pedals (with load-cell brake) first.http://eu.fanatec.com/ClubSportWheelBaseEU

279, assuming your G25 is in working order I'd go triple monitors (huge difference for immersion!), followed by load-cell pedals then wheel, shifter etc.. The T500RS gets mixed reviews, I'd probably go for the Fanatec wheel linked above from what I've heard, although it is pricey...
Don't know what hardware you have, but I was able to buy a 2nd GTX460 graphics card from ebay for £60, to run in SLI with the one I had already, and 24" Benq HD monitors for £100 ea new from amazon (actually I only needed one as I had 2 monitors already). Best £160 upgrade ever!
