Xbone exclusive for now. Can't see why they'd release it for previous gen as my ps3 struggled with Oman as it was.
Oops, I meant ps4.

In what way does your ps3 struggle?

Frame rate drop, crashes, skybox not loading in, ending up underneath the map. Happened on all servers but is the main reason I stopped playing the GGG server. I've heard it was the same on pc too.

Really not enjoying this game atm... FPS Drops, Crashes, En spawning behind me, seeing hit x's and 3 mags later being killed by a pistol, impressively terrible lag as well as numerous Killed In Action events...... The result is I'm down to two controllers after the third took a flight to the wall earlier, so much did the game piss me off... £50 wasted

I've come to the conclusion that this game is flawed deep within its coding.. Seeing as there was nothing else at launch that interested me, i've actually gone and cancelled my PS4 pre-order. I have that little faith in DICE/EA.

A game like bf4 will struggle on current gen as its being pushed to its limits. I did see reviews where it said not to bother with the current gen versions and wait for next gen due to most of the problems you mention. The bf4 vids on youtube for ps4 all look good enough to convince me even though i think fps is for pc smile

The same issues are being reported for the PC and PS4 versions though from multiple sources frown Hence why i've cancelled my pre-order for now.

After a bit of digging i just posted this to "Battlefield" on Facebook's wall:

Dear EA/DICE,

Thank you for filling my Facebook stream with 'Defining Moments' of other players. Here are my Battlefield 4... Defining moments.

FPS Drops, Crashes, Compromised spawning system (under maps, in front of enemies, enemies spawning behind you randomly), instakills, seeing hit constant hit x's and 3 mags later being killed by a pistol at 300m in one shot - aka horrendous client side hit detection/bad net code, unbalanced weapons, impressively terrible lag as well as numerous random Killed In Action events... When i clicked 'pre-order' and wasted £50 on an unfinished game, that's THE defining moment for me.

Ironically, you gave me premium free because of the messed up pre-order situation, but the truth is, if you'd waited a few months and ironed out the majority of the issues rampant in the game, you'd have had neither the truly horrendous press you're receiving from customers or the pre-order issues.

You keep releasing add ons like the "Battlefield 4 Commander App" and saying "Who's looking forward to China Rising", not to mention simply rehashing some BF3 maps and commanding ££££ from people.... What people really want, be it on PS3/XBOX/PC is a gaming experience that doesn't have the aforementioned issues happening.
Better yet, if it struggles on current generation consoles, why did you even release it? Other than to conduct wallet rape on customers who thought they were going to get a finished game?

There ARE some times when the game is epic, those glimpses of 'what you could have had'. Those glimpses are marred by the constant issues with the net code, graphics and general game inadequacies. It only serves to give you a sour taste in your mouth when you can see how good this game could be, if you decide to actually finish it.

You can't even put it down to just one or two players having issues. Across the platforms there is a broad spectrum of players who are announcing, daily, on your forum about the issues i've mentioned. The result? Well, apparently you're trying to fix the issues, but from what i can tell, aside from initially struggling to join servers, nothing has been fixed.

There ARE issues with the players not PTFO in Rush, there ARE issues with players using map issues to their advantage.. On Dawnbreaker i was killed by someone who spawned under the map, not their fault really, more the coders.

I've come to the conclusion that this game is currently flawed deep within its coding across all platforms and because it includes PC gamers, i'm content to come to the conclusion that the next generation (which are closer to PCs) will be no different. Seeing as there was nothing else at launch that interested me, i've actually gone and cancelled my PS4 pre-order. I have that little faith in DICE/EA anymore.

Ps.

Please don't patronise me with replies such as "Other than the issues - how are you finding the game?" etc, as so often would be the cut and paste remark in regards to similar issues when BF3 came out - similar issues that exist today in that game too.

Regards,

Mug of a customer #1203211

Lets see how they respond... Yes some may see me as pissing in the wind, but it has made me angry how they've essentially given us an unfinished product for a premium price.... It's unacceptable. If it doesn't work on current generation, then they shouldn't have released it?

Like a chef cooking chicken, if he can't be assed, he doesn't just chuck a half cooked chicken on a plate, still does what he is paid to do..

That pretty much goes to show the customer care EA/DICE have. Bring back the olden days where DICE ran the roost and didn't release half baked st and dressed it up as a finished item.

Did you post it on battlelog? That place is a proper armpit and anything worth reading always gets deleted. Its a shame tge EAUK BF community form got shutdown last year. At least in that place you could express opinions of the game freely and DICE members responded now and again.

Post it on their twitter if they have one hehe

That's not on really. Why give customers a feedback route and then censor it? Would be much better for them to reply and say "thanks for highlighting your issues, we are working hard to resolve any/all issues and value your feedback"

Like many I can't commit to a PS4 and BF4 until I see it working on my PS3 - a couple of "niggles" is one thing but there are major issues like emptying a full clip of an LMG into someone at close range and nothing happening to their health only for them to then shoot you once with a pistol.

That's what I'm blaming my abysmal "skill" score on anyway wink

Well sod you all, the missus has just put an order in for ps4 and bf4...

Gawd only knows when I'll actually get it though, lots of talk of none before new year, which will however provide a handy excuse for my incompetence!

The whole saga of the next gen consoles pretty much appears to be as the previous time... the early adopters are essentially paying beta testers. This is why you wait, not in the hope of price drops, but in the hope that given a good year on the market, the duff bits are ironed out.

Still EA do have many previous with crimping out a turd and polishing it later, just look at the last simcity! That thing couldn't have been tested for more than a few minutes. It was immediately and utterly horrible and I don't believe such glaring issues never popped up before release.

Yep the occurrence of buggy releases seems to be more and more prevalent I'm afraid. BF4 can probably be blamed on the fact that they needed to get it out by a very set date but it's by no means the only example of buggy software that's been released. To be fair though I haven't had as many issues as others seem to, sure I've seen few funnies, a player floating along the ground was probably the most extreme but I they haven't really been game breaking for me and I am still very much enjoying BF4 (although not had a chance to play it for over a week).

So who is in on day one? It's sounding like we will be a bit thin on the ground.

My PSN ID is matt-don. Hopefully the queuing system will be up and running soon so that it will be easier to join friends.

I have a PS4 pre-order on its way to me and will use the code to transfer BF4 across onto the new console, but it may well not be until a week after release now as I've managed to book a holiday over the release day (and it's raining here!). frown

Looking forward to seeing it on next gen though, as although it does have its issues (mainly in changes to the game - removal of spawn immunity, less accurate/deadly weapons, etc) rather than bugs (in my experience), it also has moments with great promise.

Even for those of us with 100s (1,000s? paperbag) of hours on BF3 - there is still a big learning curve to playing BF4 and I suspect this is responsible for at least 50% of the complaints - I know I whined like a biatch for about a week when I first started playing it!

My pet theory is that the the ps3/xbox360 version is simply a massively watered down, rush port forced by retailers. Most of the faults reported by PC users are either driver issues, server overload or DDoS attacks.

As mine was only ordered within the last week I very much doubt I'll be in on day one...

Didn't think getting a ps4 would be an option before new year, so didn't bother putting down a deposit, only for my other half to tell me to get it bought!

Gone with bf4,nfs and lego super heroes, plus additional blue controller.

I have had a couple of rounds of BF3 this week and it seemed so Vanilla. I missed my Slam's. I also think the variety of primary weapons available across the classes adds a lot to the experience, not forgetting the gadgets of course.

I bought into the BF4/PS4 thing expecting there to be teething problems so don't feel surprised or really disappointed. In fact I am really enjoying the BF4 experience on PS3. The Yanks have been the Guinea pigs for the first couple of weeks of PS4-BF4 so hopefully the worst problems will be solved for Friday smile
