VR is very getting very realistic, here's Ronnie O'Sullivan testing a new pool game for the Vive, so good he tries to reach down the table for the cue ball by leaning on the table hehe

Possible wireless module coming Q1 17! Will allow full wireless use of the Vive. Wonder what Oculus have to say about that...

Talk of c.$250 USD although I am doubtful it will happen so quickly at that price point but will be great if it does. Looks like they are trying to use 60Ghz band too which I think may have some limitations - but its got my interest that's for sure!

Interesting
Not sure I want to spend that amount more but it would certainly be interested in a lighter version with wireless. My main use is still VR racing so not really a big deal wired or not but I do enjoy the room scale stuff.

Lazerbait is a good fun (free) game if you've not tried it. Very simple to learn hard to master, I've lost hours to it.

I plan to have a look tonight. Also picked up the Solus Project which got good reviews but, haven't had chance to look at it so will report back tomorrow.

I see Eve Valkyrie is now out for the Vive but, not sure I can bring myself to spend £50 on a Vive game just yet (I keep typing Vibe by mistake hehe)

Ouch, £50 is very steep.
No demo either.

I did try the PSVR demo for Eve but it was very limited and short and didn't really come across as a shooter with much depth.
Plus they seem to be selling gold/credits as extra's not sure why and feels very grabby on top of a game costing £50.

My understanding of it (which admittedly may not be 100% accurate) is that it is pure multiplayer with no depth to it whatsoever, just very good graphics and a very smooth engine. It'll come down in price after xmas I'm sure. Either that or, there will be another Steam sale on VR games (fingers crossed!)

House of the Dying Sun looks like a very viable space flight alternative, albeit a single player experience for only £15. Or, Elite Dangerous for £20 (Or the solely multiplayer Arena version for only £15 if space exploration isn't your thing).

Too many decent alternatives to justify the £50 price tag imo

Solus Project looks very nice so far, although probably a bit slow for me. It is a kind of 'explore, find resources & survive' type of game. I will persevere as I spent real money on it but, may not hold my interest for long.

I didn't get round to trying google earth VR as I hopped onto Space Pirate Trainer for '5 minutes' while it was downloading and there has been an update since I last played. Visuals seem much more fluid and there are loads of fun power ups, like a massive shield, a gun with homing rockets (which is awesome if there are loads of drones left to shoot!) or a huge vortex which holds all the drones in the same place. Ending up playing for almost 2 hours, so addictive! If you have it and haven't played for a while, I definitely recommend having another go thumbup

Did you try the power batton in space pirate trainer?

When you have your shield out swipe on the thumb pad to change to batton. It's a fully electrified night stick/club that also has a lightning bolt that pulls the drones towards it. I played a level with two battons and it was hilarious (pull the drone in with one, smack it to hell with the other one)

That sounds brilliant! No I didn't discover that little gem! Will definitely be having a go with that later! shoot ( realise this smiley doesn't technically work in reference to a batton but, it'll have to do!)

I am still a bit doubtful of the lag so will wait and see what the reviews say but I would defo buy one as soon as it comes to the UK market if there are no problems. I was working on a film set last night and there were some people there setting up a green screen using a Rift. I had a quick chat with them about VR and they had no idea there was any kind of wireless kit out there for Vive - I should be on commission!!

Had a go on the Vive at a recent trackday at brands, they had it set up on a nice little motion simulator running pcars.

Having gotten over the crappy resolution I was very impressed, although the motion cockpit certainly added to the experience (although I found myself leaning left a lot), I think it has a bright future, very bright when the resolution gets up to WQHD levels.

If they crack wireless next year then 4K has to be next. The technology is going to advance really fast over the next couple of years.

Yep I'm hoping wireless and smaller\lighter headsets as I think the current units are a bit too cumbersome. I don't think 4k is essential tbh, I'd be happy with 2K as long as they sort out the motion sickness issues. My mate got the Sony PS VR and I tried it out, of the 3 people there, all of us suffered from sickness after just 30 minutes to a greater or lessor degree.

Then after that I'd like to seem them improve the control interface as I think things like the a joypad etc are just a bit clumsy for VR. Haptic gloves or something similar would be my preference I think but quite a few companies are already working on this so hopefully this isn't too far off either.

One of the better treadmill things I have seen. Especially as it allows you to duck etc.

The girlfriend has bought me a Vive for Christmas but as I work away I've been allowed to have it early. I've only set it up and run the training simulator and the Zombie school, but both blew me away. The immersion is amazing.

What do people recommend to get my teeth stuck into? I'm already planning a steering wheel for Assetto Corsa through ReVive, but I'm interested in all different types of games.
