Last night I discovered that trying to take out a super mutant behemoth with a hunting rifle is a rather slow process.
Used all my other ammo taking out the hordes of super mutants around and thought it was all over until that massive bd came out.

Also ventured into vault 106, that place is just weird.
Make sure to grab the bobblehead whilst in there.

Crap - never found that. Searched the whole place, killed everyone and got a Stealth Boy but no bobblehead :S

Perhaps its in a safe that requires lockpick of >75?

Nope. Out on a shelf in the top part of the living quarters.

Nope I found it pretty deep in the whole complex and it wasn't behind a locked door. You did have to go through a few crazy blue light changes though.

No, read a report on it on one of the computers that has given me a good idea of where to look for it though.

Oh yes, awesome weapon if a bit light on ammo.

If anyone feels inclined to collect all 20 Bobblheads, make sure you pick up the Energy Weapons one in Ravenhold/Raven Rock BEFORE you leave (you go there as part of the main quest). You can't get back to the right area once you've left furious

So what are you sporting then chaps? This season my fashionable 101 escapee avatar is wearing the Tesla Armour and Helmet, sporting a rather nice Plasma rifle as the weapon of choice, and has skin made from Bark, an Adamantium skeleton, and Ant muscle power.

Same armour but I favour the Lincoln Repeater and the Terrible Shotgun.

(with Fatboy and Burnmaster for a laugh biggrin)

decided not to set of the nuke, having a house to dump all the spares in is really useful and means can teleport back to places to scavenge for stuff, want my in house lab and 1st aid post smile

LVL 4, 350 caps, so a while to go

find the super mutants do not like sledgehammers to the head, nor shotguns to the balls

as finding dad eventually lead to the end of the game, not a rush

being able to scoop mines is great, esp as can drop a few for the raiders following me down passageways, find best collect on crouch, when close enough, they go red and pressing E a few times scoops them up, took a while to perfect it though, it is well worth it

centaurs and slegdehammers also

scavengers are in most doorways - often with names over them and under some bridges, gone midnight and so off to bed soon.

That's what I've done now. There is a level cap at 20 but there's a mod out there that raises it to 30 or 40 (depending on your preference). 21 now and discovered 105 locations. Judging by my map, there's at least another 100 out there (the explorer perk marks all locations on your pipboy map - only as untravelled ones, mind, you still have to schlep to them to make them open to fasttravel).

Must get me one of them, doesn't work so well throwing frag grenades and using a combination of hunting rifle and various pistols.

moira from darkside supplies is writing a book and conveniently wants me to test various things like killing things or recovering from injuries

get to keep the items like a repellent stick for mole rats that seems to remove their head...

expect will do some minor missions and explore a lot smile

Yeah i've done quite a few of her stupid (but fun) missions.

Warning: the town called "Minefield" is named that for a reason! Some git in a building started sniping me - I ran over to kill him and lost my legs before I got there. Grrr...

QUESTION: How do you repair your own weapons? I have quite a good repair skill now, but the "repair" button (mapped to X in the pip-boy items screen) is always ghosted out. Do I need to be somewhere or have something to repair stuff?

Paying Moira to repair my stuff is damn expensive.

I could do with knowing this too, my repair skill is like 60 or something but I can only repair the occasional minigun/assault rifle and only by a tiny amount.

You need more than one of the weapons you are trying to repair. It uses parts from the other. for example if you have one assualt rifle you cant do any repairs. If you have 2 you press repair and use the second to fix it. You are then left with one assault rifle.

spotted the mines and cleared them before removing the sniper rifle from the guy in the minefield, then repaired my own sniper rifle with his, also by combining stuff, you can carry more. R to Repair smile

Now that have a house and hence secure lockers, can dump excess ammo, weapons and kit there

if severely fragged, have several places including home that has a bed to allow me to recover

currently on the super mutant thing near the school house, lucy letter and some kid's lost dad, although there seems to be an option later to trick the kid into wearing a homing collar to find his dad, except it takes him to paradise falls for the slavers smile

Can anyone explain what this karma thing is about and if i get bad karma for doing things, what is it that can't do or get access to ?

Karma affects how people see you, so good people will like you if you have good karma and bad people won't, goes the other way too obviously, there's also the neutral ground for when you want to sit on the fence. You can check how your Karma is on the general tab on the pip-boy.

Think it goes from Very Evil, to Evil, to Neutral, to Good, to Very Good. It will affect conversation choices mainly and after a certain time Very Evil or Very Good characters will start getting attack squads sent after them because of their moral choices.
