I actually managed to finish this round although way off the pace.
I chose the Citroen, I don`t know why as I`ve never used it before. I had loads of spins, rolled a few times and got stuck in more ditches than I can remember.
A poor workman always blames his tools and I blame the Citroen.

I have assists off except for abs which is 2 clicks off bottom or top can't remember, and I have a separate joystick for handbrake which helps when needed.
I have always played rally games and always been decent at them, put me on a shooter game and I'm bottom of leaderboards lol.
I've been looking at videos for dirt 4 this last week and I can't bloody wait. Looks like a upgrade on dirt rally.
Been away for couple of days but back later so will try to get this week's in tonight or tomorrow.

From what I remember, assists make it harder. Starving, a privateer, is capable of being faster than Jay though.
If you check out Starving's racenet profile, he participates in almost a dozen leagues and has clocked up many thousands of miles on Dirt Rally, way more than most of us (Jay isn't far behind him though!) Most of us here play for a bit of fun, I would speculate that he may take it more seriously than that.Repetition and knowledge of the stages plays a huge part I think. My memory is so bad these days that every stage I run feels like the first time - every corner is a complete surprise

Been thinking of trying this. Using a steering wheel button is really hit & miss sometimes. Does it work as an analogue brake or, is it still just 'on' or 'off'?Edited by Speckle on Thursday 2nd March 13:08

Depends on the wheel you have and the joystick you buy. I think, one of the old crappy 10 quid joysticks of yesteryear work quite well as an analogue brake with some judicious fiddling.Or, if you want to go a little more upmarket, the thrustmaster shifter can have the h-gate rotated and be used as an analogue brake too. You will need a thrustmaster wheel. It is possible to buy an connection adapter so that it will connect to a logitech wheel, but it won't be analogue iirc.
Starving is hanging out on our discord, he just has loads of time to play, and loves it.

I have a thrustmaster X HOTAS (wheel is a thustmaster T300 RS) and, I've been wondering if I could use that as an analogue h/brake in some form. The way I set it all up to play doesn't really give me anywhere to put it though. Might have a play around with it, just to see if I can make it work.
Glad to hear that Starving is real In my mind, he has a full sim rig and wears a crash helmet to play....I'm right, aren't I?

Not going to lie chaps but I put in quite of time to the game as well, memory plays a huge part which is why I cannot wait for Dirt 4. If "Your Stage" is all that it's cracked up to be top drivers will have it on genuine merit and skill.

Think it's just on and off but you can just do a nice dab of handbrake before corner and it's easier than trying to hit button on wheel, mines just a old flight stick that I used on flight simulator think it was about £20 few years ago. Edited by Speckle on Thursday 2nd March 13:08

Your stage looks immense and I really can't wait for that, also they say they've sorted handling physics and learned a lot from dirt rally. Edited by bananachips on Thurseday 2nd March 15:54
Your stage will make it a lot more level playing field in league as well. Roll on June.
