Especially handy if you highlight a tank.

Also handy on Rush when calling in Artillery - sometimes it actually hits them if they haven't moved much!

I always try and spot but it is harder in BF1 than BF4 especially with individuals on the horizon.

Re tanks. I would say ALWAYS engage them if you can. Even snipers can damage them (around 6% per k bullet). It's not a lot of damage (30% total) but might just be enough to destroy. Support also can help out by dropping ammo pack and using mortor or limpet mines.

The biggest thing I see is people NO engaging tanks at all. They just want to run around and try and shoot people.

Same can be said for aircraft. If you are not being shot at then shoot at near by aircraft. Again you probably won't kill it but if everyone did it you reduce the effectiveness and give your trans fly boys / AA a better chance of taking them out.

^Not bad advice either, you cant repair a vehicle from inside while its taking damage. It might just buy someone enough time to get to it and finish it off.

Guys,

I'm looking at building a PC to play BF1, what specs are people playing this on? I don't want to overspec, but also want to play on max / near max settings. Do I need to go 'large' or can a more sensible spec PC run this OK? Budget for new pc is somewhere between £700 and £1500, but don't want to spend needlessly

I'm sure it's discussed somewhere on the thread (a quick skim through didn't find anything though) so apologies if it's been discussed...

Anyone had any luck with the Sniper Medal? The first few challenges (20 kills, 10 headshots etc) are easy but the "Destroy 3 vehicles with K bullets" is damn near impossible! I have tried and tried, been focusing on killing motorbikes but even then it's hard, think I have racked up 1!

Any tips?

I have finished off a heavy tank with k bullets. If every sniper on the team fired at a heavy it would be down in seconds. The problem Is No one does!

I overhauled my PC earlier this year. I retained the case (Coolermaster Cosmo S) and PSU (Corsair 1050W thing I think, could be 1200W) but thats about it. New parts are:

Asus ROG Max VIII Hero Z170 Motherboard
Intel Core i5 6600K CPU
Corsair Hydro H100i CPU Cooler
16GB 2x8G DDR4 3000 RAM
128GB Samsung SM951 M.2 SSD for OS
480GB Sandisk SSD for Data
(I also have an old 2TB Spinpoint HDD used for non important data)
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW Graphics Card

to finish it off I added a Dell U3415W Ultra-wide 34 Inch Curved monitor.

The motherboard auto clocked the CPU 31% which was nice (37% resulted in the odd crash).

I run BF1 at full settings at 3440 x 1440 and its fantastic!

The PC parts were under £1k and was £550 for the monitor.

(I did add another 32GB of RAM to it but that didn't improve BF1, but did mean I could leave a load of VMs powered on in Hyper-V and still play perfectly )

Thanks - it was the motherboard/cpu/graphics card combo I wanted to confirm. From reading around, I guessed that your combo would be good, but I wanted it confirming before splashing the cash

Played a bit yesterday. OMG I see why everyone plays sniper! It's so easy to rank up / be at the to of the points table! Just get on a flat with plenty of traffic and snipe away. Sooo many points it was crazy. Helped that several PH's had squad boosts as well though!

Sniping is quite easy in the game.

I haven't played it too much.

I hope someone releases a "modern warfare" type game again.

I always use the mortar to get the snipers, that never gets boring and is highly effective!

People not spotting and ignoring tanks are two huge issues of mine. Mainly because one tank can pretty much dominate an entire game. And if you are the only person attempting to kill it, chances are you will not succeed.

Without at least two other mates, I find this game terrible. It really is vital that your squad plays together and communicates, we win most of our matches when we have a decent 4 or 5 man squad.

It doesn't help when the assault class can't carry enough ammo to take down a tank and that dynamite doesn't always work when you try and throw it. You need to rely on mines to get the initial hit and then follow-up with rockets (which puts you at risk).

I spent a few games yesterday just trying to hunt tanks (I was going for a medal that needs anti-tank grenade kills), in the end I gave up and went for infantry as I had no help from anyone, not even the other tanks.

With a bit of strategic thinking you can normally at least cripple a tank with a combination of anti-tank grenades and the rocket gun. The trick is to remain in cover as much as possible, spot the tank so you can see where it is through cover, throw your grenades over the top of the cover without exposing yourself.

When you switch to your rocket gun, pop up out of cover, aim, fire, then duck back down and reload. The view out of the tank is limited when you're using the gun, so quite often they wont even see you.

As for AT kills - they don't have to be against tanks I believe! I'd try it in the Argonne forest and just use them as normal anti infantry grenades. They have a large area of effect and are very powerful against infantry.

Games,Cars,Bikes. How does any relationship survive all this? I have been told to grow up and concentrate on the important things in life like having children/family etc. I am single now so I do as I please. But it's surely got to kill a relationship if u rarely spend any time together. Unless of course u don't actually want to spend any time with them as u r only together for the sake of it? Women usually hate all this stuff. If my ex girlfriends knew what I was like now they would say that they had a lucky escape.
I do love this game btw.

Go for the GTX 1070 card now, it's massively more powerful than a 970 and not that much more expensive.
