Still waiting for was pepering something (cant rember what) with 23mm fire this morning. several hits and i think it got some critical damage but not the kill (team mate did thougbh). In the early stages is it better to use the smaller caliber multi shot guns or just to stick the biggest gun on there you can?

I have done both. But it seems like i rarley get a hit with the 45 but the 23mm seems to get me more hits. I know its no going to do as much damage though. Also i semes to regularly get peppered but volies of smaller caliber cannon fire.

Guns are like car engines. There is no such thing as too big :-)

Tips on hitting things:

Look in the middle of the reticel. You'll see a little upward pointing arrow. That changes colour from red to green on your chance of penetrating. I didn't spot this at first, and it's made a huge difference. Better than auto-aim.

Thing carefully about the situation and whether it's worth stopping still for the few seconds it needs for your accuracy to increase (the aiming circle shrinks). Sometimes pot shots on the move work well, most of the time hiding in a tree and lining up properly pays dividends. The bigger the gun, the more it's worth doing the latter and making your first shot count.

Oh one last snippet, at Tier 1 and 2 the flak guns arn't bad.
But at later levels they become useless.
I would suggest getting used to aiming with the big guns and making your first shot count.

(Having said that I bounced 14 shots off a KV the other night and didn't scratch it once)

One of the reasons I love my KV, that and the big gun can do 700/900 damage. I have a voice server setup so we can try platoons properly. Now I understand how it works I will not drag light and middles into another heavy battle wink

Download and configure Mumble voice software from here http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ if you have a headset.

Voice isn't really an option for me in the evenings as Mrs Rizzo goes to bed about 10pm and I play next door, so I can't be wittering away.
I'll install anyway as there will be times I can use it.

How do we go about setting up a clan? The way I read it on the forums is we don't have to participate in Clan Wars if we don't want to.

killed object 2xx (lvl 7 artillery) whilst driving a lt 2t tank (level 2) whilst in a clan war... was a comedy moment for everyone!
P.S. the tank's top speed is 72kph, really helps staying out of everyone's crosshairs smile

Yeah had a few. Its annoying when you get a couple of criticals on a bigger tank and you are just about to finish him off then a team mate pops him for you! also really sick of getting put into loddies with MUCH harder tanks. you pop them with a green marker 5 or 6 times and nothing!!! GGRRRHHHHHH

Good fun with the loltraktors last night - apart from the random top tier battle! Only downside I could see was that only three of you can join the platoon, I thought there'd be loads of us in the same game or do you have to form a clan for that sort of thing?
