Haha, he is winning at the moment for sure!
It was a hellishly close run fight, they sat on our undock in a 25 man kitchen sink fleet of T1 cruisers, fast tackle, Blaster Naga's and a trio of Ishtars.
There were only a few of us online, naturally, we attacked.
FC was target calling as fast as he could, a friendly in a Hictor shot out to trap them, while a corp member in a Proteus got to work clearing fast tackle.
They were dropping quickly, but not quickly enough to save a nearby Geddon from going pop, next, I saw things targeting me. My shields vanished, my armour started dropping, I called for reps, and they started landing, but my armour was still dropping, I overheated all the things on my alt, as did a couple of other, and as my finger hovered over the MJD, reps held at 8%
The dead Geddon Pilot reshipped into a Sabre, as the Hictor pilot didnt survive, unaware of our rep range.
The enemy, unable to break me, tried to run. we think about 7 of them made it, leaving behind a little over a billion isk in wrecks behind them, for a return of a single Geddon.
Killboard green.
In sadder news, I lost my Tornado tonight to a pair of Ishtars, after nailing their Interceptor

What does flying tackle actually mean/involve? I'm assuming some sort of electronic warfare fit, but no idea what.
Tackle usually means a frigate with a point, a web, a prop mod and agility/speed mods. Your job is to listen to the FC and make sure the primary can't escape. Your guns are like the points in Who's Line Is It Anyway? So most of the ones I give out have salvagers and tractors in the highs. ETA: I love tackle frigates. Cute newbies always get the most credit and love in my (occasional) fleets. If a newbie in a Slasher can get me a BS kill then I'll make sure the fleet gives him 10m... each!

Hi Guys, I stopped playing Eve about 3-4 years ago but have been getting the itch again (listening to my brother telling me about all the recent changes and looking at the new ships). I was wondering if any of you kind gentleman could give me any tips on starting skill setup for a new character. I specialized in Ewar before but was also wondering how easily R&D or manufacturing was to get into as a little isk earner ?
Any Help or tips would be appreciated.

Don't bother starting a new account unless you can't remember the login details for the old one. Having a bank of skills already trained makes life a lot easier, especially gunnery, tank and ship command skills. The whole "I'm specialised in xxxxxx on my main, I need to start a new character to do yyyyy" idea is complete bullst. I have a character that was started for T2 production that is now capable of flying supercarriers and has Doomsday Operation trained to 4. Ok, she has no Titan skill training but that's what ratting is for... Any Help or tips would be appreciated.
The simplest way of starting a new alt (if you have to) is to simply pick a ship, look at a full T2 fit for it, figure out what you need to make it Cap stable and then train all of the skills on that list.
Manufacturing in a nutshell:
PI is relatively easy to do if you're willing to take the time to set it up. I make about 500m/month using 3 characters on one account. I only log them in once a week. Its more than good enough to allow a newbie/returning player to have the isk to lose all the ships.
To be completely honest, for real money making you'll need to get yourself into an ISKtar or a Domi and rat like a real man Ratting will also force you to train tanking/gunnery skills which will help with PvP.
Bonus points if you're ratting on multiple accounts while playing another game or at work... On a completely unrelated note: -2 ISKtars today.
Sorry, a little ranty but I'm at work and don't really have the time to make it flowery. I'll post a more coherent guide later

Tell me more about an ISKtar? Any particular setup?
Thanks for the replies guys, i'm gonna need to start a new character as i gave my old one to my brother to sell so he could get the isk for it. TBH this is probably for the best as it means i can try re-learning everything again. Thinking Caldari or Gallente. Are Gallente still drone boats ?

yes dobberThat's my Account setup, and already realized i forgot how to fit a ship and navigate to Encounters and most of the overview buttons. again thanks for the replies and whats the name of the PH channel?
I will be on tonight prob about 6pm to 9pm if GF doesn't murder me first so if your on CJ would be good so i can harass you with newbie questions.
Had a good laugh last night with some randoms, forgot how friendly the community could be after a few years putting up with other MMO's and their trolls.

I'll be on around that time, probably from half 7 onwards. Just look for Xandski Huren, Chiana Eriker or Taeylia Eriker and that'll be me... Or at least the versions of me that frequent the channel
If you need a hand with anything then I can fly over and help you pop things
Only a few weeks into this and having been mining ICE to gain some money fast while I train tier 12 skills for something more interesting I ended up joining a Corp. All wad going well till I had treated myself to a nice new 50mil isk ship and was flying around high sec to different stations to get it fitted out when I was killed by someone. Turns out this Corp was at war with 2 different factions and had failed to tell me. At least the guy who took me out was pleasant enough to talk to!
I can see how this game gets addictive.

Eve is very addictive... I can see how this game gets addictive.
There are, as with any mmo, some pretty toxic elements to the player base but for the most part we're a pretty decent bunch. If you ever need help then let us know here or in the PHEve channel and we'll do our best.
As a bittervet let me give you some advice... Get out of High-Sec! You'll actually be better off (both in terms of isk and your enjoyment of the game) joining something like Senex Legio or another similar corp that lives in NPC null or biting the bullet and joining a Null Power Bloc Alliance. Null is more often than not safer than High-Sec, if you know what you're doing, as you don't get complete oxygen thieves like the Marmite Collective or wes In Space war-decing every corp with more that 5 members or get caught up in FW when you didn't realise it because your new corp "forgot" to tell you.
I'm sure Mandown could be bribed into slinging you a corp invite (if you ask him nicely). :P
Also, never fly a ship thats half fit ever. I would suggest that you get into an interceptor or a cov-ops sooner rather than later. Both classes are relatively low SP, relatively cheap and are, in the hands of a moderately good player, nigh on uncatchable. Both classes are perfect for transporting stuff around and can be pretty handy in a fight too.
