I have just downloaded this
WTF
I cannot even do the training mission
was this game developed with a view to winning the title of most user unfriendly game in history?
Is it just me?

It does get easier... a bit.... after a few months... maybe years...
Stick in there - very much worth it.
I started playing about a month ago. Enjoying it and learning each day.
I joined RvB first of all but left once I realised I wouldn't have enough ISK to keep up with my pvp habits. Then I went to Brave Newbies but found it overwhelming and there were way too many members for me to get the help/support I needed. Nobody noticed me basically. So I joined a nullsec PVP corp after one of their members blapped me in null, but I'm not finding it very good tbh. They're all yanks and I don't feel that I really fit in with them. Plus being new & not being in any way effective in their fleets, it's a bit pointless. I've got to cross train into Caldari cruisers to really help them out, which will take forever. I'm looking to leave them ASAP.
Are there any UK based 0.0 corps that you guys know of, who would be accepting of a <2m SP n00b? I have a mic and TS3/Mumble, etc. I'm mostly online weekday evenings and occasionally at the weekends. Looking to do some PvP, earn some money and generally enjoy the game a bit more than I am currently.

SENEX mate - good bunch, lots of timezones and helpful.I joined RvB first of all but left once I realised I wouldn't have enough ISK to keep up with my pvp habits. Get on the PH Eve channel as well - there's usually one of us from SENEX around at some point.
I think Mandown/Summer was a lowly SP guy when he joined not long ago - He's FCing the corp tonight

Thanks. Just reading through the Eve-O forums post, sounds ideal. http://senexlegio.com/recruit/

I think I was around 1.7mil SP when I got to Null Sec with Senex, with some of that dedicated to mining.
It wasn't easy, Senex tend to value individual Pilot skill more than mass blob groups like Brave, but I was lucky in that Asterix spent a good deal of time, isk and blown up ships mentoring me, until I had a pretty solid understanding of how things worked down here.
I was also fairly lucky in catching a good deal on PLEX, which has kept me in ships for a while.
That said, if you can explore, do PI, run High Sec missions, then you should be more than able, along with a corp that replaces your ships, to cover what you likely to be using (T1 frigates)
You can still be very useful flying these, in fact, without them, guys tend to fly ships, to do the same job, that are worth 30 times as much.
Pop onto our channel later on and say hi. If its after 19:30, I might not answer, as Asterix pointed out, Im FC'ing my first fleet, so will be stressed to hell
But we can for sure have a chat, and see what we can do for you.

Passed on my details and had a chat with Mandown/Summer in game this evening, so will be looking to join up if possible.
ETA: Also spoke to Toastofferson and have now joined. Have registered on the forum and now just need to work out how to get myself down there.

It was pretty simple really:
I warp into the bubble he was camping. He closes. I target. He get's closer and he starts hitting. I'm pointed and he's neuting (no effect). I play dumb. He gets closer, too close. I close to my range, web and scram and hit the 'orbit' button (1,000km) and launch drones. I start shooting (Hail ammo), I watch my sheilds closely and only boost when I'm down to 25% so I can see exactly what the boost does. I'm now fully engaged and watching my shields like a hawk. Halfway through I overheat my guns, stop overheating before I burn out. Popping boosts only when I'm close to shields etc...
He's out of shields. He's going into armour, I've got two boosts left. He's now in structure but hitting me hard, One boost left.
Job done.
The key to that encounter was pulling him in and boost management. I didn't waste a single cycle - they all had 100% effect.
...and he must have been st - because I'm rubbish!

Yeah I think I managed to tap him for 270 hp or so before one of his mates popped me. Still fun though.
As for the Ibis, being one jump behind you lot I felt like a lion cub following the pride learning how to hunt and being given the privilege of dealing the killing blow.

I think what was holding me back was not being completely au fait with the shortcut keys or understanding the mechanics of what actually happens when you are doing a de-cloak tackle. Having had time to go through what I was shown, I'm happy that I have a much better understanding of the process now and reckon I could pull it off if I could have another couple of practice runs just to cement that my current understanding is actually correct.

I wouldn't go anywhere near that far! I just have a lot of spare time on my hands atm. Though Titanfall arrived yesterday, so that will cut down on my Eve time somewhat
Xandski, are your mob still loved up with SOLAR?
Not a clue, I'm about half way through a month long swmbo enforced break from the game at the moment so haven't really been keeping up with current events. I'd assume that we're still allied with the Russians et al but as far as I know the CFC is clearing out their own back yard still. Xandski, are your mob still loved up with SOLAR?
