The CSL in GTL partly inspired me to get the E30 320i SE I found on Ebay the other week!

On the topic of the real CSL, it's so difficult compromising your car choice for distance and for the possibility of snow arrrghhh!
Seeing how these Germans love to conform over here and urge me to get a diesel Golf makes me want to get the CSL even MORE as an everyday car!

Anyway, back on topic, my G/F (Jonna_Rex) wants to get GT Legends but she's not sure if it will work on her computer- she gave me the specs to post- alot of it was in Finnish, but I translated what I could into English near the bottom:

I THINK it looks ok, with the graphics card- perhaps with the game set to a low resolution/low graphics setting- but then- what do I know about computers?

Why not ask her to download the demo and see how it runs?

Good thinking Bat man!
Not sure she has high speed connection any more but may be able to get access to it.

Here you go

The wheels are PS2 marketed only, but just happen to work on PC with these drivers *shrugs*

Dave.

I downloaded this and my pedals no longer work. I am reduced to accelerating using hte buttons. I am blaming that for my extremely poor performance.

Any tips? I installed the wingman thing and now the force feedback works but it is not detecting the pedals at all.

Tips would be most helpful, thank you guys.

Do they work in the demo mode in windows? (control panel game controllers)
If no are they still plugged into the wheel?
If yes have you tried the setup in the game?

Make sure you assign the axis yourself too, so you can press them both at the same time. Not that you do that much when playing, it makes a big difference to how well you can control the car.

Such a great game! I was able to download the demo and it seems to work on my computer just fine. Bit hard driving while using the keyboard but the next thing is to go and shop for the game itself and the wheel.

At the moment I am perplexed as to why it is not running smoothly.

I have a laptop with 1GB of RAM, 256MB graphics card and a 3.2GHz Intel processor yet it is more juddery than a learner drives first lesson. It is completely unplayable.

This makes me angry. Any suggestions? I am well within the limits of the recommended game specs, let alone the minimum but it will nto properly work.

Do I need to give it a while before exiting hte pits to let it all catch up? I played the GTR demo in here and it worked fine so I am very confused.

Pedals still do not work either.

What version of DirectX have you got on your laptop and what config settings and DirectX settings are you running GTL at.

I have directx 9 on there. In terms of config settings and DirectX settings, no idea. I certainly havent changed them since I got the laptop.

I cannot even run the game on 720xsomething i cant remember in 16 bit mode with low track detail.

Basically, i do not think I am doing something that the computer should not be able to handle.

DX9 could be your problem. Some video cards have rubbish performance with GTL on DX9.

Run the GTL Config from Start>Programs>GTL and set it to DX7, this could make a world of difference (it did with mine )

How do I register to go online racing?

Do I have to set rate of mechanical failures to "high" is racing the Alfa?

The first time you select 'multiplayer' and select the 'internet' option you'll be prompted to enter the online serial number that came with your game. Then you choose a username and password (which you verify with an email) and you'll pass through to the online lobby.

This is a big chat room, with a list of all the online games on the right. We have our own paid for server (email neil_cardiff for the password) but often race on the public servers.
