Gran turismo 5....the official thread
Discussion
Ive heard that PD regret adding the word prologue to GT5, as everyone thinks its just a demo before the real gt5 arrives. Apparently their big plan was to release a prerelease gt5, call it prologue, and gradually update it as they develop new content. People would buy new stuff, download it, and gt5 would eventually emerge from the prologue that you install. Not a separate game, more of an evolutionary product.
Quite whether thats still the case remains to be seen.

Why? Because Sony release reliable release dates?
Well it's not rocket science, is it?DP are making the game and haven't said when it's going to be released, anywhere in the world.
So the game sites either have some super hot inside information from another continent on the release date (which keeps changing ), or they're making st up in order to secure pre-orders

Yeah I often use Play.com as my trusted source for when a game is coming out... I'd certainly take their guess as gospel over what Sony or PD might say.What amazes me is we’ve not heard anything from Polyphony, no screen shots, no trailer, no press releases nothing.
Now that’s remarkable for two reasons;
The first being that nothings leaked out onto the internet this late in a games production, especially when you’ve got 100’s of people working on one of the most anticipated games of year/ platform.
(Although this could be to do more with the Japanese working culture and morals)
And second, very worrying that all the features we’re after (private rooms, weather, day night cycle, damage etc) are taking too long to implement or, dare I say it, have already reached the performance capacity of the PS3!? especially running in full HD. I hope i'm proved wrong on this one.
I still think Christmas 2009 for release, but the 25th of September is as good a guess as anybody else.

If you have not got a PS3 now what more evidence do you need?

That looks incredible. If PD are capable of that as a tribute, then GT5 should make for an amazing game. Especially from the looks of the trailer that was released a while ago.
What stumps me is... If PD have time to be making a 458 tribute of this quality, why the hell isn't GT5 out yet!

there is no definete release date for it yet. its just down for Q4 2009.
hopefully after tokyo game show we may be closer on a definete release date. its going to be playable at the show so it must be nearing completion. even gran turismo mobile which was announced at the same time as the psp has just had the full code reviewed so they shouldnt have anything else distracting them now.
