Heard a good tip yesterday that will be helpful if true - Corrective Measure (VoG HMG) has "Find more Heavy Ammo" perk, which apparently means heavy ammo drops more often.
So, if you're empty on rockets, equip that heavy machine gun and you should get more heavy ammo drops, just switch to your rocket launcher before picking them up.
I have the same perk on a HMG and have tried using this technique. It is a bit hit & miss to be honest because whilst they're more likely, heavy drops still aren't guaranteed. Plus, it is all too easy to forget to switch back to your rocket launcher before running for the purple ammo! So, if you're empty on rockets, equip that heavy machine gun and you should get more heavy ammo drops, just switch to your rocket launcher before picking them up.
It's official: HoW scheduled for "second quarter 2015".

Anyone want to bet that actually means May?
It could actually mean June too, I guess.
Why are Bungie trying so hard to wreck this game?

Wreck the game? Are you serious?
I'd much rather they delayed it a few months than gave us the same amount of content as TDB.
TDB was pretty much finished when the game launched, so any criticism was hard to implement, and they've learnt a lot, so there's a lot of work to be done with HoW.
For me, HoW is make or break, I'll still play it a lot, especially as I've paid for it, but Borderlands is out in March and its such a more inspiring fun game it's unreal.
Really hoping HoW pushes the boat out though.

Who said there will be more content in HoW than TDB thanks to the delay? TDB was pretty much finished when the game launched, so any criticism was hard to implement, and they've learnt a lot,

Everyone on the forums seems convinced that the delay means that the DLC will be better than if it were released in March. However, I used up all my blindly naive optimism on BF4, which 16 months, 4 DLCs (several delayed) and too many patches to count is still a shadow of the game we were promised, paid for and what it should have been.
That was obviously developed by DICE and EA, but nothing Bungie and Activision have done to date shows me that they are any different - their hype and marketing is triple AAA, their product is not.
I doubt I really need to list all of the disappointments in the original game and first DLC, the internet is full of tirades on the subject, but take one example in isolation to sum up their approach - VoG Hard Mode has been out for 4 months, there has been a DLC and numerous patches since, yet it is still full of the same glitches it had on day 1 and there is no talk of fixing any of them. Bungie simply don't care - there's no money in it for them to fix it.
To expect Bungie to suddenly find its conscience and deliver what it promised a full 7 months after the release date, in a DLC that most people who are going to buy it have already paid for, is the definition of naivity, in my opinion.
I understand people's optimism though, as I mnetioned above, I spent over a year hoping Dice would fix BF4, or at least deliver some of the promise that the game shows, but I was bitterly disappointed.

I bought the Don't touch me gaunts again because of their Discipline role compared to the strength ones I currently have, thats it.
I'm thinking about picking up duplicate exotics so that I can keep one level at the current max and have a spare to reset to zero and start on the new level cap after HoW if they pull the same crap again with the progression ladder in that DLC as they did with TDB.I've already got quite a few duplicates just from drops, but I might pick up a second set of "Don't Touch Me"s so I can continue to do Crota Hard Mode with my first set whilst I relevel the duplicate set.
I already have 2 sets (both maxed) of the Hunter gauntlets and 2 Hunters so, another pair would just be frivolous!
I plan to glimmer farm and re-plenish my Heavy Ammo stocks. No doubt Xur will sell it again eventually but, I'm done holding my breath!!
A big thank you to all you guys who indulged my efforts as swordbearer on HM Crota last night, I had an absolute blast!! Still some issues with the timing but, the fact that we made it past the ogres (just!) on one occasion fills me with optimism! I think it is a good plan to have more than one competent swordbearer and, hope that I will be able to fulfil the role as well as Kaney does

In amongst that announcement, is another article talking about changes to weapon damage and there is the news that they are increasing damage done by shotguns to "aliens" 2x i.e. 100% damage buff, in order to encourage people to start using them. Quite glad I bagged a legendary one today then! Will be active when the next patch rolls out before the end of this month.https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=12558

Managed to cheese the lamps with my warlocks today. I know I'm about a month behind, but........... Go me!
Did you do the jump?I can do it on hard with a level 31 titan (bubble, blessing of light + helm of Saint 14 + Patience & Time) and a level 32 hunter (all the invisible perks/gear), but can't figure out how to stay alive long enough for the bridge to form as a level 31 Warlock?

Not surprising that shotguns are little used at the moment as they are that poor IMHO, no better than a melee for range and quite often no kill against pretty much anything from a few paces away. But maybe that's just me.Edited by Brite spark on Friday 6th February 17:37

I was surprised how easy it was!
Did it twice on normal. Once with M.I.D.A and no super, and once using radiance at the top of the jump.
Got to the end, blew lamp, jumped on rock next to lamp, IB/BH Ogre and voila!
Couldn't do it on hard though. Got on the rock but couldn't make the jump, which was surprising as surely the jump is yhe same on the different modes.
