World of Tanks (Vol 2)
Discussion
Tonight I've rediscovered the joy of the IS-3. While I was raging at bouncing two shots in a row off a Tiger II's machine gun port earlier, it is in general an absolute monster of a gun. My first game of the night was a 3500 damage loss, where I sidescraped like a motherfker and had a T30 bouncing shot after shot off me. When I was catching the T30 with autobounces from the sidescraping, that should have been an indicator for the other tanks to stop trying to pen me and change tactics, but they kept at it, and I was just trolling them with shot after shot.
This is the second time I've owned an IS-3, and the third time I've tried to grind to the IS-8, I really must try and finish it this time!

Crew back into a t-150 for now.
The IS-8 is a bit 'meh'. Not dominant in its tier like the IS-3 can be, but the gun is good and it has decent mobility. I sold it as soon as I unlocked the IS-7, which probably says it all.Crew back into a t-150 for now.

Mine has been kicked quite a bit harder than that. Matchmaking and RNG within the game has been atrocious just lately. It's been so bad that I have been logging off after less than a dozen games because I am struggling to get a single win.

your total battles and win rate are quite impressive, I had trends like yours a few times (especially when introducing mates to the game) but as soon as I start watching the trend and play to win my win rating goes up, but efficiency drops down.http://www.noobmeter.com/player/eu/scarebird/50034...
anyone knows what WN rating is all about? My win rate is quite good but the WN rating isn't as good as it should be I think. I know I am suicide prone if it means I compromise at least an equivalent tank by doing so. Like this morning I stayed and fought an E75 with a 62% win rate, a t34 with a 52% and a 47% is8.
I could have retreated instead, but decided to delay them three so my group has the time to cut through another flank and surround my assailants. Although I miraculously took the good for nothing is-8 with me, the E75 and the t34 were slightly shot up but ultimately bogged down for too long to make a difference and then outnumbered and dispatched with.
I only did about 1.8k damage in the end which isn't great for an E75. does this kind of play affect my WN rating in a bad way?

Meh, had a 5k+ damage, 3.6k bounce, game in an E75 last night. With a platoon mate doing 3.7k damage also. Made F all difference to the outcome as we were still outnumbered by 4 tanks in the end. Also my HT15/2 mission although attained was not done with honours...This is the second time I've owned an IS-3, and the third time I've tried to grind to the IS-8, I really must try and finish it this time!

Love the t-150!Crew back into a t-150 for now.
Best tank ever!
got 67% win rate in it. pulled off some ridicilous carries in it, including being the last one man alive vs 4-5 opponents or something like that.

Cannot say the IS3 has been one of my fav tanks, sometimes it can dominate and sometimes it gets lost in a battle.
The T150 on the other hand is a game changer.
I agree, the IS-3 can struggle in some situations, particularly when bottom tier on an open map - the lack of accuracy means that even shooting APCR is a gamble on top tier tanks, and the terrible view range means it struggles as a scout. It can struggle with flanking too, particularly when there are hills, given that it has FA gun depression. The T150 on the other hand is a game changer.
On a good match though, it is a beast, when you're facehugging someone who doesn't know about the roof hatch weakspot and hammering them with the BL-9, or just bullying lower tier tanks and seeming nigh impervious to damage.
I had a T-150, but only played a few games in it, I will go back to it some day.

The WN ratings are an attempt to use the data mad available by WOT to put a score against player performance. I'm oversimplifying a bit, but essentially they are driven mostly by how much direct damage you do. Kills and wins are less important to getting a high WN rating than raw damage, although the theory would be the more damage you do, the more likely to win you are. Win rates correlate broadly with WN score, but its possible to have a high win rate relative to your WN by sacrificing your own damage for the good of the team winning. For example in the situation you described, or by passive scouting (assistance damage isn't counted in WN as its not reported by WOT). Absolutely nothing wrong with that, id far rather have people who want, and know how, to win in my team than damage farmers.

Thanks, I knew what it was in broad terms of course, but didn't know that passive scouting is not counted. And yuor explanation confirmed my suspicions.Win rates correlate broadly with WN score, but its possible to have a high win rate relative to your WN by sacrificing your own damage for the good of the team winning. I know you guys will think this was petty, but I wanted to share anyway.
Hate idiots raging during the battle, but even more so when the rage continues after you won them the battle.
