about to offload my DK2 to CEX for £227. Bought it for Elite:Dangerous but not really playing it much.
Will defo be investing in VR in the future though, it's jaw-dropping awesome.
Can you send me an email and some pictures...

I would be interested, out of the UK at the moment, but back in 3 days.

Can't sell it via PH without a visit to the naughty step, it's now offloaded.

Can just contact us off PH via PM to organise it all... never mind its gone now, but worth knowing if you have anything else to sell (as long as its not an official advert on the forums)...

Just been announced it will cost $599 and then another undisclosed amount for the motion controller which you'll need, at that price I'm afraid I'm out...for now. I'll give it another year for all the others to be released at which point the competition should drive prices down a bit.

The CEO guy back in the day said it would be 'around $350'. How fking far away from that can you get?!

My reaction when I saw the pre order page too. $350 was plenty considering I need to stick a better graphics card in to make the most of it!
Will be interesting to see what happens to second hand DK2 prices, would they still be worth a buy or are they really not that great for the money?

Gutted at the price, that'll really dissuade all but the most committed of enthusiasts.

Now wondering if one of the DK2s on eBay for around £200 would be a good buy instead. Any advice on that welcome!

I said I was going to order one as soon as it was announced but something like £530 delivered here plus probably another £300 on a graphics card (mine isn't exactly slow, but it won't render recent stuff at that resolution and frame rate) to only play what's going to be a handful of games for some time... it's just too much.

Yep, that's over £400 in real money, far too much for a peripheral. I'll let the early adopters pave the way and wait for the retail v2 or one of the other competitors to come up with a more realistic price tag.

UK price has just been announced and it's even worse, £499 so not even pound to dollar equivalent, someone's having a laugh as usual. rolleyes

It's £499 + shipping which they don't tell you how much before you order.
And like you guys I'll need a new GPU.

I currently own a DK2 and had a DK1 plenty of disposable (at this level) and a gamer so ideal customer. But that's too much.

Let's see what Valve do.

They're about £200 - £250 on eBay right now. Having seen the price of the official ones I'm now considering this. Is the DK2 worth that much, in your opinion?

Do you think the DK2 is still worth a buy? And which GPU are you running yours on?
Thanks

Oh and apparently the retail version sold out in 14 minutes!

Ahm oot, as the saying goes.

£500 for the OR plus another £200-ish for a gfx upgrade, plus however much the touch controllers will be? No thanks.

I'll stick with my DK1 (bought on ebay so no free upgrade, damn!) and have a look at those tasty 34" curved gaming monitors instead.

500 sheets and my CPU (okay, it is quite old now I'll admit) and my GPU (which cost me £250 only 18 months ago) are not up to the job it seems:

And I was all ready to order one, but I'm not spending £500 plus what will be, in effect, a new PC (since I'll need a new MB as well for the CPU).

I can't see these selling well.
