Hard VoG then. I know Youngsy still requires fatebringer (I would like it but not too bothered as I think it'll become redundant fairly soon as enemy levels increase) and I'm always up for the vault. Hawkmoon is excellent.

Yep had a great introduction to the second part of the Crota raid with Speckle and Lovechild this afternoon with us getting him eventually thumbup Not bad considering I only had Truth to bring to the party which is crap compared to the jellyhorn and the fact I'd never done this part before.

Really enjoyed it though. Now if I could only get past those bleedin' lamps without getting lost, I might be able to do the whole thing from start to finish.

In addition to the chest piece (yay, now have the kit to get to lvl 32), I also got Song of Ir Yut HMG which seems pretty good on first use, bit unstable, but also a complete bullet hose. Has nice perks against hive knights and majors too.

To add that I got screwed over by Bungie again with patch application. Crockostimpy asked if I'd like to join his Nightfall run only to find that I couldn't due to me having the latest patch and he didn't. That system is garbage

I died so did the update and then tried again. Twice I solo'd it all the way to the Archon Priest and both times I got kicked out when he was half dead due to server connectivity issues. What a waste of an hour and so annoying.

Thanks to Flat Out for letting me join him on his ones later. Got a purple scout rifle and sniper so worthwhile.

I still need to do it with a Titan, as well as up for some raids later this week so if any of you see me on, tap me up.

I'll be on tomorrow for sure so now we're all on the same patch level, things should be smoother. Really want a crack at the weekly / Nightfall

I'll be on tonight for weekly and nightfall, if you're around about 7ish.

No worries dude. The scout rifle you got is meant to be really good. Even better if it has good perks. Sorry I sort of bailed, but I ended up helping a few others with their Nightfalls. It looks like you'll get this done but give me a shout if I'm online and I can help if you need it.

I got screwed by the Nightfalls- strange coins and legendary garbage (sharded). Having said that, a quick run through Crota from the Deathsinger bagged me the Helmet for my crappy Warlock. party I'm fortunate (lucky!) to have full raid armour for all 3 characters. I have a million shards so just need the EXP. biggrin

I also think we found a way to hold interest in the game until the DLC drops. A team of 6 went into the Crucible and we dominated the 2/3 games that we played. It was actually really good fun. We should do it more often, and, I'm thinking we should organize a proper Iron Banner team for the next tournament! smile

Cheers but outside forces conspired against me today and I was barely on at all. Will drop you a friend request though smile

Mida multi tool supposedly being sold this week. Is it worth 19 coins (given I have a maxed scout rifle and Vision of Confluence already) or save them for something else?

Stimps, happy to join you for run with your Titan if you see me online. I'll be back to lvl 31 with my raid armour after tomorrow's bounty runs. Need about 50 odd shards to upgrade it lvl 32 though frown Tough with just one raid capable character

Mida is an ok scout rifle, but is really useful for its perks - it gives your character increased speed. Handy for running the lamps, jumping the lamps or bridge. smile

Defo get MIDA (if/when it comes up) for the speed perk, pretty much guarantees the thrallway chest.

Due to a lack of fatebringer, I've recently been using icebreaker for lamps, and my word! it wrecks groups of thralls, plus it's got an agility perk. Hip fired/quick scoped from close range though.

I might be on in an hour or so if anyone's up for a late raid.

What again so soon? That was for sale just a couple of weeks ago IIRC

I ran it with a different group today and they were all using Icebreaker and it was incredibly effective - no need to scope as you're often facing a wall of Thrall just six feet away and one shot will take out 3 or 4 at a time.

They also showed me some other tricks - using a titan bubble with blessing of light on the right hand peninsular bit keeps the Boomers busy plus gives your team an extra shield when running to the ogre room.

Another one was only shooting the knights at the beginning of crota down to minimal health, then using supers to finish them off. Leaves you with a room full of orbs. With the right kit it boosts your health back up to full every time you enter the room.

Final one was that you can hide on the lefthand side of the ledge when crota moves to the right after the first sword, no need to go back into the room and face the boomers again.

That doesn't always work, as we found out to our peril one evening. Crota will fire his blobs at you (particularly if you look at him... hmmm, that was probably the problem hehe) and, if you're not bunched tight enough, it will not end well. It is a safe strategy for 1 or 2 with low health though, particularly if you're on the last sword.

I think I prefer going back inside as, as you've mentioned, there are a load of orbs to replenish health!

Thats alright, I didn't come on last night either. I've just recently discovered Game of Thrones.

I wanna get my hands on Mida multitool. But I hope Xur doesn't sell it, everytime he sells something it loses its exclusivity in the game. Kinda makes it boring, whats the point in grinding through if you can just go and buy it?

Good tips! Seen the bubble and orb tricks before when doing HM. Only done hard a few times though so not really clued up on the best techniques for it and NM is a doddle now.

I've 2 or 3 manned the lamps a couple of times now so there's obviously more thrall per person. The IB does seem to explode groups of 10+ with relative ease.

Last HM I did, I was on boomers. Waiting in the crystal room after the 1st sword I took 90% health off the boomers through the door, from the back of the room. When we went out and the sword bearer started doing his stuff the boomers were an easy take down if they started on the SB. Their health didn't regen and keeping a bit of health obviously stops respawn.

If push comes to shove, one of the boomers can be killed without issue. It is only when both are killed will a wizard spawn.

I'm not suggesting that it is a good idea to kill one as a matter of routine, however if the choice is between killing one that is attracted to the swordbearer attacking Crota (and who won't stop despite being peppered), or not, then it is a no-brainer. smile
