My rule on the tyres is as I said last night if you run a mix that counts towards the softer choice and you still have to run the harder as a set.
I can't see the advantage over a stint or two as IMHO a full set of softs would be ultimately quicker (flip I know you a crazy cat who likes the left field tactics) but for the majority I guess this is true.
If its an issue ill re-write the rule for next seaon banning it it as bill says its not unlike running a lesser spec car etc

So we can infact run the lesser tyre as both of our choices (so one compound)? Just adds another dimension to the strategy available
Last night I would have been happier running mixed compounds, such was the disparity in wear. Much like any front drive combos we've had, they're always made better with a harder rear tyre all race

No - you would have to run at least front or rear of the softer compound to comply with my law So we can infact run the lesser tyre as both of our choices (so one compound)? Just adds another dimension to the strategy available
Mixed = fine (but counts to the softer option)
running only one compound even if hard does not comply
PS table updated on p1

I think if you had run harder rear tyres on the Elise you would have had monumental oversteer!I must apologise for throwing a cat among the pigeons with the tactics, I'd hate to see mixed tyres outlawed, but if it causes too much problems that's understandable. To paraphrase a very successful lecturer of mine, you know you've done a good job when it gets banned

Hehe yes indeed quite right Evo :-) That was meant to have read that hard tyres on the rear... being specific to the front drive (urgh) combos. I don't say this often but the last thing the Elise needed was more oversteer!DrBillyRubin said:

It too late to change the tyres to sports meds/hards?
Bit too much grip with the softs
The hards will last too long in my view. Too much grip? Don't you mean not enough power Bit too much grip with the softs
I make it 33 laps, can I confirm that it's meant to be 'very fast' setting on the fuel/tyre wear? Also, and this makes a difference, is the track grip reduction set to 'low' or 'real'?
TIA
