After watching your video I only had to see you braking into T1 to see that I have the issue below.
So I did the above, getting better but not as I think it should be, I have adjusted the brake/pedal gamma from 2.4 to 3.5 and it seems better.
I seem to spending 1 lap out of every 10 driving and the rest doing half a lap, exiting, changing something and testing it. If it's not steering ratio it's brakes and when it's not it's trying to fix what might be controller issue with a car setup tweak, going around in circles a bit.
Still I've just done 3 laps in succession with the latest controller changes and the first flyer was a 58.9, the second was a 58.9 and the third was a 58.5 so now I think it's drivable I might start driving it

I've just had the brake locking thing and it's happened to me once before. Basically, the pedal seems to only need a third of the travel to hit 100%.
I go back to the control screen, clear the brake pedal, and re-assign. Making sure to tick the box afterwards.
I think I have had that all the time I've played AC because all of the cars have been quick to lock up. I need to go to controllers before any driving, and calibrate the pedals everytime.I go back to the control screen, clear the brake pedal, and re-assign. Making sure to tick the box afterwards.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. I guess you've tried moving the pedal up and down through all of its travel before driving off? I have to do that every single time, otherwise I get exactly the same problem.
I'll try that as well next time. Went back to the default setup for the car and did some more laps.

Quicker lap but I've done quicker sectors.
Well, they're 1960s tyres with absolutely rubbish grip, so yes, they lock up on the brakes and also spin up under power really easily. I'm threshold braking actively every time I'm braking, whereas in a lot of the other cars you can just welly the brakes and then back off a bit if the wheels lock. However, the problem described above where 10% pedal movement equates to 100% braking is a genuine issue with AC and is well documented - you should be able to brake a fair bit before the wheels lock, not just brush the pedal and have all four lock instantly! Luckily for me, if I pump the brake whilst the car's stationary at the start the problem goes away, but the AC forums are full of people talking about it, so the issue may run deeper than that. The difference with the 49 is you're barely ever pushing the pedal all the way down, so it never calibrates itself.
For me when I looked at the controls screen the pedal bar position was centred, then when I touched the brakes it moved very quickly to full on, then settled back to full off, then worked properly with the full range of movement. I'm thinking whatever setting it sees in there is what's loaded with the car & track, hence the short pedal range to full braking power.

Thanks for the video Rob. Nice lap.
I put a lap in last Thursday but forgot to add it to the list.
Going to try and improve on it now.

I hope they are going to change the setup pages, ARB 6 means nothing to me, it needs to be in 100-200 range lbs/inch or 200-300 range N/cm. Same with a some other settings which are just random numbers for level of setting and brake bias can't be adjusted below 52% fr bias.
Reason being I've just read that the default setup is for Monza.

That's been annoying me too. Their principle is that the adjustments are just notches, and you need to look at the diagram on the right to see what the value is - toe and camber work like that for example. But you're quite right, many of the others have no units at all! The brake bias is the worst - they don't tell you which way is front and which way is rear - anybody know? I'd also like in-car adjustments of BB to show in the pits.
Thanks Andy - you're starting to worry me now as you'll be in the 57s soon!

Better, terrible last sector, too cautious into the penultimate hairpin, fast chicane and final corner. Haven't got the bad braking out of my head yet. I used the online GPL setup comparison website to look at my old GPL Lotus Monza setup and my GPL Lotus Kyalami setup (Mugello sort of like Kyalami) noting what the Monza data is and how different the Kyalami is to that. Then looking at the AC Monza setup and making "hopefully" the right adjustments up or down.
It's either working or I'm just going quicker because I doing a few laps now and have got used to it.
One last go tomorrow.
Ps, this is my setup if anyone wants to try it - https://www.mediafire.com/?q9yay17j2gbw1n1

Got a few laps in and improve a little but that's me for the combo. I've got no more time to play today but I really enjoyed the combo. Looking forwad to the next one.

I'm glad that everyone enjoyed the Lotus 49. Time to visit a new track and totally flip the power/grip equation on its head:
I set an initial time last night to start us off:
BMW E30 M3, Silverstone International
Let's run the totally standard road car on semi-slicks.

Good to see people are liking this challenge, I was a little worried people wouldn't because The E30's quite slow. However, whilst the E30 M3 may be slower than the other cars, it handles beautifully, and true to what I suspect would be the case in real life I actually prefer it to the 135M and E92 M3 in terms of pure driving pleasure I found this combo really made me work on my neatness, and is bound to make us (or me at least) quicker in the other cars.
I'm not sure I can make a hat-trick here though; you're very close Alex and I've noticed on RSR that Andy's even closer!
Regarding AC's realism, I can only vouch for the cars in it that I've driven in real life: the Elise (owned), Exige, Evora, 2-Eleven (own now); and cars I've driven something very close to: Formula Arbath (raced a FRenault for a few years) and Exige S Roadster (I've driven the coupé). From those, yes, it seems realistic to me, although some of the cars seem to have lost the sting in their tail a bit and also seem a bit more stable, but that may be down to the sim not modelling bumps (e.g. the nasty dip at T2's apex at Sstone Int) and us lacking the feedback and feel of being in the car. For the 2-Eleven I compared corner times around Silverstone International and they were almost identical (see my post on the AC forums for a full write up). Someone also did this rather cool video of me driving in real life vs them on the sim too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jQouH8oCGo I'd say AC is the best sim I've driven to date. If you're buying a wheel and pedals I'd highly recommend three pedals and an h pattern shifter, for me it increases my enjoyment hugely. I've got a Logitech G27 and really like it, but I've not tried other highly regarded sets like the one from Fanatec.

Learning the track but it's pretty good fun.
Had a terrible first section and lost a good half second there so I think a 1:19.x is possibly but it has all got to come together at the right moment.
