Finally got my 5th crew skill completed on my T95 yesterday! It has taken a while (400+ games) but worth it. Also got my USA Expert medal today in it which is cool.

Update 2.2 is coming to the Xbox soon, possibly as early as tomorrow, having been hinted at yesterday and announced today. Next Tuesday is more like though. We're getting Westfield back in the map rotation (hooray) and Lakeville (hmmm...) as well as the introduction of Dragon Ridge and a war variant of Ruinberg. Why we're not getting the standard Ruinberg first I'm not sure, but whatever. Also in the update is the Wespe and Pz.Sfl.IVb, the alternate German tier 3 and 4 artillery, along with the Spähpanzer Ru 251. As it happens, I had been training a German crew to go into that, but they're still a bit embryonic, currently sitting in the Luchs. They're also selling the BT-SV premium too, not sure I'll bother with that one.

Unfortunately, the M46 Patton is very much proving that the struggle is real. I'm no stranger to stty stock tanks, but even with the middle engine and gun, this thing is still terrible. It's effectively a Pershing with tier 9 MM and what feels like worse armour. I've recently been benching 2500 WN8, up to 2700 on good days but I think that will drop quite a bit as a result of grinding this stheap out. Perhaps the most damning thing is that the top package with the 105mm still doesn't look that great, but like the Pershing it may turn out to be a tank that is greater than the sum of it's parts.

As far as the M48 goes, I have no idea why it's required to grind out another 45,000xp or so to unlock the top gun - not many tanks at tier X get stitched up with this handicap and it's worked a treat for WG, I'll be spending gold to convert some XP to unlock it from the word go. It will be my fifth tier X tank and my first tier X medium, any other tanker who has survived the grind to obtain a tier X medium, you have my respect!

Most tier 9 grinds are hard & the M46 Patton has one of the worst. When I played it you couldn't even mount the Pershing's gun until you had unlocked the tracks. Fitting enhanced suspension simply wasn't available, but they've changed that now. I used some free XP for the tracks, ground out to top gun to around 50K XP and used free XP for the rest. It's worth the pain though, as it's a good tank in the end.

I didn't get the M48 Patton, but it's OK I hear. Like US mediums in general, they're quite a rare sight. It used to be able to fire accurately on the move I think, but that was nerfed 3-4 years ago now. It still has insane view range & if one of those things gets anywhere near you, it'll light you up.

The extra 45K for the top gun is a pain, but at least it just adds more penetration and a little more accuracy to the 105 mm from the M46.

400 games with the T95? You must be a masochist or something. wink

Haha whilst I do agree to some extent, for instance yesterday getting excited because Mastodon gave me a push up a hill so I went from 4kph to 8kph really does make me wonder why I play it. However top gun and great armour means I have a 57% win ratio in it, with only my T18 beating it at 62%.

All that jazz

If you're good at shooting on the move and generally enjoy LT play style then you'll probably like it. The armour isn't that great but will bounce most lower pen stuff with some angling. Gun is fast firing and does 40 damage per shot so whittles them down quite quick. Traverse is pants and turns like an oil tanker and it's also blind as a bat, but it's fun to play.

I'm quite looking forward to the Czechoslovakian tanks. The country is already listed in the current PC client, but they're still working on the tanks.

The premium German T-25 medium tank was actually a Czech proposal by Skoda, but they lost out to MAN's design for the Panther.

It's going to be buffed & used as the tier 6 tank for the Czechs, so they'll probably stop selling the German tier 5.

I've got my Xbox One set to auto-update as downloads become available and indeed, this works for other games, but for some reason with WOT I have to launch the game to initiate the download. Some of my friends experience similar, others get the download started automatically. I set it away when I got in from work, no WOT for me tonight, I'll have to wait to tomorrow night to get back on. The chances of me getting the M48 Patton during the on-track event are looking slimmer and slimmer, at least I'll have it fully upgraded and probably at least 80% of the way along to the M48, so it shouldn't be a massive struggle to finish the grind.

3 of us in the office platoon together and no WoT update has ever happened automatically for us. Knowing this to be the case when I saw it had been released I tasked MrsBadger with turning on the xbox. 50 or so hangout messages later it was finally updating... smile

Back on the tanks tonight, gave up after a few games when it became apparent that my teams were only going to go one way. You can put two 2500+ WN8 players in a platoon, but in less than fully upgraded medium tanks at tier 9, you can only carry so much. No sense raging out at it, I'll come back tomorrow.

I did get a quick game in the BT-SV, it's acceleration and speed is impressive, the armour is troll but only against same tier guns - tier 4s rip through it, the gun is poor, apparently it's the same as the T-127 but it feels way worse, struggling to pen an M3 Lee even with premium, ouch! The view range is terrible too. Still, it's a novel little thing and will be good for a laugh. It looks incredible.

There are two new premiums on the Xbox version too, the M41B which appears to be a Brazilian army Walker Bulldog, complete with Brazilian flag on the front wing and a snake emblem on the turret, it appears to have a 90mm gun firing a high pen HE round as a standard, heat as a premium and a low pen HE round on board too. It's very quick, has amazing shoot on the move accuracy, very, very cool indeed. Also, it's pretty much confirmation of the American lights coming soon, as we've just had the RU251 and now we've got this M41B tucked away - it's only playable in a tutorial mode accessed by using the "Training" tab in the Proving Grounds Menu, it's on the "Target Practice" training.

Also in the training section is the SU-76i, a TD which was sold for about a day then quickly pulled from sale on the PC. It's a Panzer III chassis witth a 76mm gun, which hits hard as a hell for a tier 3 TD that only sees up to tier 4. This one is in the "Live Fire" training mode. It's slow, supposed to be well armoured but has ste view range at 300m, this thing will get tucked up by FCM36Pak40s, but enough pen and alpha to wreck just about anything it will meet with ease.

I thought the same for a while, yet valiantly soldiered on thinking "This can't last *all* night, surely?"
Yep, that many games for a win. A fun evening...

I find it incredible how players can constantly find new and exciting ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. There was also some properly messed up RNG working against me today, just total BS stuff that shouldn't happen. Not cool. Win rate for this week is 27%, bots do better than that irked

I've had some shockers and some good games this morning.

As massive bonus was doing over 4K in my Obj 704 which was TD mission 15 for the T28 HTC.

Have 1 heavy mission left, but am struggling with the higher medium and light missions. Have 7 left I think.

I re-bought the Obj 704, but I can do most or all of the TD missions with the Waffle 4.

I'm slowly working my way through the T28 missions. I fully re-did HT7 yesterday with the WZ-111. Do 2K+ damage, kill 2 and either win by cap or relieve your own cap. I did the latter. I've done up to HT12 now.

The light tank ones are a lot harder now since they changed a couple of maps in the last patch. I'd found nice bushes on Swamp and Redshire that used to provide loads of spots. Now useless.

BTW, Consumables and equipment are half price at the moment, so stock up.

I use the T71 mostly. It can be a nasty little bd if you play it smart.

I also used the AMX 12t, but sold that for the AMX 13 75. It's a bit crap compared to the T71.

I have binos and coated optics on the T71. Gives me a 500m view range.

Will have to try it again a bit later. I'm stuck on the 'spot four tanks first and remain unspotted' mission.

I've just stuck coated optics on my T71 earlier today, dropping the camo net. Other equipment is binocs and vert stabs. The crew is all female and they're about half way on their 4th set of skills now.

The AMX 13 75, like most tier 7s can't run vert stabs. The gun is rubbish in game, despite it being the one used to great effect on the German Panther.

Best ever game in my Dicker Max. It's what the Nashorn should have been.

I'm playing all my premiums desperately trying to accumulate credits.

However, I'm in a quandry. Two of the tier 8s I can afford are on 15% off and I can only afford one.

They're the KV4 and the RU251.

I think I'll enjoy the RU more, but I really want the ST-I so will have to get the KV4 at some point.

Decisions, decisions.

I've had reasonable and rubbish games in the the AMX. It defines 'passive scout then mop up at the end'!

I'm only really playing it for the 13-90. It's one of the least enjoyable tier 7 lights to play for me.

Same here. The T71 is better in every way.
