Use one of the trucks and turn off TC (Raptor/Tundra) tuned up. It's very easy. It's weird but the trucks seem much easier to drive quickly on dirt than the rally cars.
Noted cheers Paul!

I’d say part of the fun is experimenting yourself! The only real backwards step you can make is throwing money away too quickly on a car you won’t need in a few races time.

I’d say be mindful of events and only spend where you need to, and give the licenses a proper good go. They help get a feel for the game and show you the mechanics of what you can get away with and can’t, and the added bonus is they give you a car at the end, especially if you achieve Gold!

If you work your way through the licenses and stick at it to get gold for them all you can get quite far just from the cars you win, same with the menu challenges

I’d also check out some of the YouTube guys for guides.

SuperGT, Rory Alexander & TheKie25 are decent, although you may need a swear filter for the latter hehe

Completing the circuit experiences is a good way of gaining credits, i think its a minimum 250k all bronze an 1mil all gold, per track.

Get the licence tests and circuit experiences done first, that will get millions of credits and dozens of cars to start with. It’s a long slog. I’m 14,000 miles, 450 hours into the game and I still haven’t completed everything or got every car. It is the best racing/car game I have ever played though, it has an insane amount of content.

Is there a January update? Wish there were some more mid range EU cars and some more endurance races!

Nothing announced yet but there is bound to be something soon. Although Spec II was a hefty update.

Keep your credit card hidden as he'll be wanting to buy credits to buy more cars given how measly the earnings in the game are. Could easily spend a good chunk of real money just to get into an F1 or an XJ13.

£15.99 2 million credits, so £159.99 per 20 million car.

At the moment there are some free prizes if you log on every day upto 5 times over the next week or two (didn't check the details). You get I think a 6 star parts ticket a 4 star ticket, 100 or 200,000 credits a five star ticket and maybe a 6 star engine ticket, so worth going online over the next week even if you are not playing to get the free stuff. If you have time though, do just under 27 miles to get the daily bonus ticket too.

Never spend real money on anything in the game. Play it for fun, and enjoy the prize cars. You’ll get plenty of credit doing licences and circuit experiences.
The only reason I can think of why anyone would spend real money on cars is if you plan to do online racing and think you need to have the best car for every race. Even then I’d suggest ‘grinding’ for practice and earn the credit that way.

Thanks for all the tips, guys. He's currently playing through Spider-man 2, but we'll put these to good use once he's done.

Log on for the free stuff, just start it up and go to the world map, you don't need to do anything else to get it.

Two tracks I'm absolutely dying to see in this game, twin ring motegi and pikes peak.

Can we also get rid of the utterly ridiculous roulette tickets now please. Just got a 6 star ticket and awarded 10k credits... Cheers then!!

I'd like to see the 'build your own track' tool like GT5 had.

Happy New Year to you all. Not posted in here for a very long time.

Does anyone know if there is a database for all the past fortnightly time trials please? I ask this as it took me ages to get into the top 3% (on both accounts and managed to get gold by 2 and 3 tenths of a second respectively) at Lake Louise using the GR Yaris.

Anyway, when collecting the credits I ended up getting silver meaning that whoever took the top spot must have absolutely smashed it!

Really, I'd like to see how far outside the 3% I got as I remember it was a 1.46:505 which I had to beat. Maybe I was too cautious or just plain rubbish!

Another thing but I was watching Rory 'EERIEISSS' Alexander's stream earlier in the week and the abuse he got from Kimi Velocini was just awful. I know Kimi is dirty but this just beggared belief that I was getting angry for Rory. I don't know if anyone saw it but Digit uploaded a video of it on his channel. Kimi needs to be banned and now.

Have a good day all.

Very late on in the two week window, he blew the gold time into the weeds. Lots of people got caught out.

Dear Lord! That is incredible and I noticed how he managed to go around one of the bollards too. Thanks Ferris. They make it look so easy don't they.

I found it easier to learnt the track fully in the dry first, and then when doing the wet challenge go more steady than you think you should. Stick to the dry line and no need to be right on the ragged edge all the way round, just put in a smooth lap and you’ll get gold
