Epic racing last night!
Highlight of the evening had to be Dice, Norbs and me side by side braking into the first left hander.
That was crazy, that was after 17 laps of nose-to-tail racing as well! Hopefully us 3 can be just as close through the rest of the season, will be a mammoth battle!Highlight of the evening had to be Dice, Norbs and me side by side braking into the first left hander.
Chuffed with 2nd place in race 1
Really enjoyed last night, despite my car losing 20BHP in the first race and making me 4 secs a lap slower than everyone else. Still it put me on the front of the grid for the second race with no ballast.
Enjoyed the second race far more, had a good tussle with GW and flip at the beginning for a few laps before they disappeared into the distance. Some very nice, close quaters racing from both of you.
Had a couple of moments later in the race which made me fall back to sixth place 2 laps before the end, letting billy pass in the process.
Ended up chasing Billy to the finish line, on the final lap i got close enough coming up the hill to get up the inside of him on the left hander coming out of the final tunnel, managed to get slightly better drive coming out the corner as Billy slid out, there was little tap i must confess, although i hadn't accounted on Billy getting out of shape as i made the pass - silly assumption i know.
I then led into the final corner, Just about keeping in on the track - billy just about managed to keep it out the wall with his foot in it on the grass. lol
Epic stuff, roll on next week.

I like the sound of that Billy .
Hehe yeah I think it's a beauty to drive! For those who are not die hard fans of the slidey-slidey, I have graciously allowed an lsd to really lock that bad boy down like some sort of demented road-barnacle. I have also prevented it from being overly 'edgy' by sticking with the standard suspension :-D
Last night was awesome racing, it was a pleasure to be involved one and all!

What are you going to do with your overalls now GW?I'm hoping for a beautiful reunion between the great 7-timer and the red team for next season, wouldn't that be wicked?
At least Martin won't have to hide is raging hard-on for Button anymore. I can almost hear the JB posters being applied to his office wall as we speak.
No more championships for McLaren for a while. Well unless they build a perfect car.
As for Schumacher going back to Ferrari...
Alonso would destroy him, the guy's past it.
Thanks Billy
I take it Chris Slade has been doing passenger laps, which circuit did he take you round GW?
It's funny, me and Chris started racing Minis at the same time.
Our first time out was at the opening round of the 2010 Mighty Mini championship at Cadwell Park. I hadn't tested the car I'd bought some 6 months earlier so my first go in it was during quali, it was an interesting few laps.
I think I qualified about 15th, two places behind Chris. We'd changed the setup for the race and a soon as I got going the car felt fantastic. I passed a few cars during the first couple of laps then came up behind Chris entering the Gooseneck. He hesitated for a second and I nipped passed just before the drop.
It was a fantastic first race, I'll never forget it. Didn't think 11th was bad for my first go.
Me and Chris had some great battles during the 2010 season, I just managed to pip him to second place in the novice championship.
He's a lot quicker now than he was in 2010, I watched him win at Thruxton in 2011 from last place, never seen a Mini driven so well before.
Did he take you out in his Super? It's my old Mini Sprite I sold to him.
Here's an in car video showing me and Chris racing at Cadwell (I got a really bad start!). I'm the yellow Mini, Chris is the blue Mini just ahead of me.
