Popped back on last night straight into a raid - 2 hours later boom, Oryx defeated.

Seriously stressful and fun not yet over 300 yet but now have the raid hand canon, pulse, shotgun, ghost and mark. No armour as yet.

Not sure about tonight as the wife is out tomorrow.

I think I could do wit hgetting in on a raid. However I've no idea how the multiplayer side of destiny works, I've always used events wit hthe Matchmaking facility before, but I don't think theyre going to cut it now.
Add mates or people from this list. When your online you will see them playing the game. And they maybe in a party. Join say hi. join a fire-team and then the game becomes 100% better with mates.

It's simple and will make the game much more fun. The amount of time's I've been in a raid or strike and had such a good laugh

There are some quests and activities that result in 310 items. I think Eris gives a 300 artifact and a 300 weapon at some point but I think I'd maxed my character as much as possible before trying a raid and was about 295.

Knocked, just use lfg or r/fireteams (you'll get some good and some bad on them). Don't go in blind either, read or watch a guide and try to get a basic understanding of what you're supposed to do at each CP. Bear in mind though that there are a lot of different roles toward the end. I was trying to talk a group through the final fight at the weekend and it took forever. You have the runner, platforms, ogres, the vessel, bomb rounds, teleport rounds, staggering him, detonating corrupted light then damaging him all to explain and understand. To watch videos to understand all that would need to be from at least three different perspectives from the fireteam.

We are all different but I found it easy to be given a simple task with specific instructions and just observe what everyone else is doing. Be honest if you don't know exactly what to do at any given stage. For example for my first run at Oryx I just jumped on and off platforms when told to while killing my ogre and detonating light. After a few I was on add duty and helping whittle the ogres down in order and then I've had a few goes at running the rift.

Also, be conscious of your class. Sunbreakers are cool but if you don't have any other titans then a Defender will serve your team much better and I wouldn't volunteer for the rift running as a hunter. The jump is awkward and slow and tether is good for the vessel. If you're a Warlock..... well just stand there and look pretty....

Also, fiddle with yourself. At the hive ships and hall of giant rhino dicks you'll need high agility but at all other parts of the raid it's important not to die so you'll need strength and recovery more.

I was thinking about it last night and whilst I prefer King's Fall in many ways but you won't get the same endgame drama you got with Crota. You'll never see a backup swordbearer run in for the final blow or a Warlock self-res to finish him off while an oversoul is up. Everyone has a task, you could perhaps afford one death, maybe two if the remaining four are very good.

I've only got a 300 shotgun, 300 titan artifact and 300 boots from quests and the Court.

only thing I have over 300 is my exotic sword at 310.

Just need the 300+ kingslayer ghost to get me over 300

I'm guessing a lot of people will be doing iron banana this week so raiding might be on the back burner..

Saying that though I am most definately up for a raid tonight, as usual I'll be on from 8pm.

Never heard the hunter jump being described as slow, very much the opposite to be honest. Most guides I've seen have recommended a hunter for that role.

I got nominated for relic duty last night as nobody wants to do it, and I can maintain my sprint speed across all the platforms, get the relic and I'm usually waiting for the vessel to drop. Steal the brand then tether him at the same time as I'm running back to the centre. That tether really helps take him down quickly too.

I don't think Oryx is that difficult TBH. The mechanics can be sussed out in a few attempts but the difficulty is getting a flawless run with as little amount of deaths as possible, because depending on when someone dies it can be impossible to recover from. And whilst running the relic isn't particularly taxing, it's pretty much guarantees a wipe if you make a slight mistake. On the final run last night I made sure I stopped on each platform biggrin

Anyone up for arranging a raid. Lots on last night but most doing different thing.

If anyone wants to start a raid at 6 i'm in. Same goes if you want to start at 8.

Just give me a shout
Aiming for saturday at about 8ish (depending on when the boy goes to sleep).
If we can get a group from here, awesome - otherwise I'm going to try to find some randoms and see what happens.
I expect to screw up multiple times.

I just don't like it for the task, by slow I mean it's a predominantly vertical jump whereas the Titan and Warlock are whichever direction you want them to be. Didn't struggle with the hive ships on any run with my titan but the hunter took me a good 7-8 attempts. I like a lot about the class but the jump is not my favourite. I also think it depends on which class you 'main'.

With my connection I have to stop! I landed on the rift last week and it didn't pick up.

So you finished it? Did you get much? Really think the loot drops have been falling off this last week.

Nightfall is SABER with Arc burn.

Will see what the rewards are like with IB before committing to it. If it's 280 or 290 then I think I'll try to get 3 x raid completions instead. 2 MB/s makes PvP a bit of a nightmare anyway and IB usually brings out the worst in lag.

Yeah, got the auto rifle, hand cannon and pulse rifle.

Auto rifle was @ 308 light. Didn't like it, terrible stability so infused it into my Hung Jury which now sits @ 305.

Pulse and hand cannon are both 306 light. Have to admit the Pulse feels really good to use and I'm normally not a fan. It shreds Taken and has decent reload speed (for a raid weapon).

Items letting my Hunter down at the moment are heavy weapons and boots. My highest light level for heavies is the sword @ 299, and boots are @ 297. All other armour is @ 310.

it's armour letting me down (artifacts and boots mostly), and secondarys (none from raid yet). Currently switching the 308 1000 yard stare between characters.

I kept the auto rifle (at 310 too!) but haven't used it much. I got two pulse rifles in the same drop and used one to infuse the supercell up to 302. I'm still unsure about committing the big number stuff into infusions. For now I'm just keeping it and seeing what becomes a 'go to' weapon. I still haven't tried enough out to be sure. I just know a high impact sniper is pretty essential (especially for Golgoroth).

I have both raid heavys, which is lucky because I don't think I'll ever do the exotic sword quests.

Have you got the malice now then? Last mission is a bh

I think you need to see past the rumours and stick to the facts from that thread.

Basically trash went to the US and bummed someone to death.

Need to get the last 3 calcified fragments, hopefully tonight. Two easy ones from the raid I've missed and a tier 3 CoO.

I did that final mission as part of an earlier quest and yes, it's a bh. Up there with the spindle mission. Don't think I'll try to solo it.

I think you'll need to do it again (at a higher difficulty). Knocked helped me because we both needed to do it but he still had it for whatever he was doing (at 270 rather than 280).

Have you done the Agonarch rune one? If you do then I've still got it ready to do (got to 45 before I charged it fully).

Have you done all the Tier 2 COO? Its good for them but you have to know what boss you're looking for and abandon it if it's the wrong one (gives you the rune back).

Be aware that bungie had turned the agonarch tune off as someone found an infinite loop glitch, not sure if they have turned it back on yet, if you try and present the tune and it doesn't work.. Now you know why
