PvP now seems to be all about the pulse rifle. Auto rifles are good at close/medium range, but still pretty average at long range (poor accuracy).
Pulse rifles seem to be death rays at any range - I took someone out with two bursts (all headshots) from Messenger yesterday.
Shotguns still seem to be viable, but you need to ensure you stick it up their nose before pulling the trigger, which is pretty much what people did before anyway. The age of the sniper shotgun seems to have passed though, thankfully.

Just checked this morning and the download had finally completed. I had about 15gb downloaded by 8pm last night but it slowed to a crawl and still showed 10 hours to complete at 11pm!
Will be on this evening to finally give it a try, shame about the PvE shotty nerf, they were fun to use after the buff, now it sounds like they suck again

After a major ballache logging into PSN and contacting the Destiny servers, I finally managed to log on for about 20 mins before work this morning but, didn't get to see all that much. The bounties are different, the Hunter vanguard bloke gave me a crappy blue cloak and that was about all I had time for.
I will say though that everything looks ever so slightly slicker and sharper - not sure if they've actually tweaked the visuals or if I imagined it though.
Will be on this evening for an hour or so to have a better look around.

My download took about 2.5hrs in reality once it got it's act together and PSN started dishing out decent download speeds. Anyhow, dived in for a quick look last night and to turn in a couple of bounties (anticipating to continue to level up Dead Orbit). Wrong! Forgot all about the new "pledge" system and a I promptly levelled up the Vanguard, crap. One package awarded, but I didn't open it. Figured I should wait until level 40
Turns out it would make no difference as I think you earn rep with the Vanguard and which ever faction you pledge to at the same time now. I think the pledge system is just a new way of swindling you out of glimmer - it costs 2500 each time you pledge, rather than the one off cost of a faction item which then could be switched at will. And you can only change your pledge once per week
My completed Eris bounties were gone, but I kinda expected that once I'd properly read the pre-release notes
Open exotic bounties did indeed award the weapons, which was nice and my hunter went from level 33 to 34 by turning in 2 x 5000 exp bounties. I suspect the levelling from 34 to 40 won't be as quick
Started on a couple of quests (like 50 kills as a gunslinger) and noticed that despite saying melee kills count towards the tally, they didn't it would seem. Bounties are all now different too and I didn't see any at 5000, they all seemed to be around the 3000 XP mark
I like the new interface, but it'll take a little getting used to and working out where stuff is (you can't see your faction levels like you could in the old interface for example, or at least I didn't see them)
Going to have a proper walk around today to look at the new collections and things and then start on the Gunsmith if that is unlocked yet
Oh yeah, and despite all my best gear being on the Titan he was the second weakest in terms of light level - hunter first and warlock bringing up the rear. There was only 2 points between them, but still

They're at the bottom of the inventory page - not sure mine appeared before I pledged to New Monarchy though?Quick tip for this weekend/next week - apparently you gain faction rep by turning in heavy ammo synths. It takes 100 Heavy Ammo synths to level a faction (2,500 pts).
Xur sells 5 heavy ammo synths for 1 strange coin, so you can "buy" a faction rep level for 20 strange coins.
Useful if you have a lot of strange coins and want to try to get some new legendary faction weapons/armour immediately next week, although this exploit could always be patched before then.
My Light was at 170 within minutes - got a blue mark from one of the quests that was 180 defence, compared to between 3-150 for my current gear. Yes, for some reason, some of my legendary gear had a defence rating of three including the PoE class item. Combine that new class item with 170 attack weapons and old-school light 42 gear, and that was 170 light.
The Titan Defender quest where you have to kill enemies inside the Ward of Dawn is glitched to hell. Took down 6 or more Thrall completely inside the bubble and it registered just one kill. By comparison, totally burned through the Voidwalker one, so it's not affecting all of them
Going to get them all done but turn them in post TTK for the XP they bring I think

Siege of the Warmind, get thrall to chase you, then grenade them.Going to get them all done but turn them in post TTK for the XP they bring I think
Just had a quick go, did the weekly with my Titan, weapons seemed a bit weaker and it was a bit of a slog, but Omingul with no burns always is...
Lots of changes overall and quite a lot to take in. Not quite sure what I should concentrate on doing at the moment, hopefully i should have some extended playtime over the weekend to get used to it.

Ditto, apart from the weekly bit. Not really sure what I should and perhaps should not be doing ...Lots of changes overall and quite a lot to take in. Not quite sure what I should concentrate on doing at the moment, hopefully i should have some extended playtime over the weekend to get used to it.

Only thing I did tonight was another few Hard Crota runs, and on the second of the three, my thirty-eighth
HM clear...
I GOT MY BLOODY CRUX!!!
With Necrochasm in hand, that's my entire exotic collection complete.
Congrats! And finally. I just hoped that you had an upgraded Eiodolon ready since Eris no longer sells the Orb required to take the Husk to the EOHM clear...
