Battlefield 3 - PC Players Thread

Just got this for xmas.
Cracking game playing really well on my high end gaming rig.
I haven't played many FPS games on PC though so I am still adjusting to the controls.

Just been pointed in the direction of this thread from the general BF3 one...

My name is Squirrelofwoe (as on here) and I have reason to believe some of you have been providing me with an introduction to BF3 verging on the in-humane, despite considering myself something of a veteran of online FPS's

Years of playing COD-WAW Tank maps server & BF1942/Vietnam hasn't prepared me as well for this as I thought

A few rounds of Team-Deathmatch have helped me find my bearings with some of the weapons...

Feel free to add me later, it would be good to recognize some names!

(And as a current level 2 I'll happily absorb any hints/tips etc!)

Why do people I added in origin, not show up in battlelog?

I think because its because for some reason they have seperated the friends on Origin (covering all EA games) from the Battlefield friends. i.e. every time I play an EA game it will show you that I'm online, but only when I play BF3 will it show my friends there that I'm online.

When you consider that you can't add new soldiers because its linked to your origin account simply shows up how mental the whole Origin/Battlelog system is right now.

My god, really... I thought I was doing pretty well at plinking people at 660m on a regular basis but that is just insane.

With the L96, with the SVD I had 1160.

Operation firestorm, there was a group of 5-6 recon on the big hill by the US spawn, so I went up the hill behind the runway at the RUS spawn, and then started picking them off!

You can go up the hill BEHIND the runway?
Who knew?
Then again I was the gunner in a chopper today on Kharg and he flew all the way around the back of the island to the US deployment. I'd never seen that done either.
