This morning has seek some progress through the SRL, helmet and warlock bond now at 319, my overall light level has increased to 315 and I dropped a 310 Hawkmoon with a 3OC. Bloody chuffed with that, Hawkmoon will be a beast when its fully upgraded.

Also weirdly my SLR rank glitched - It jumped from 2700 or so to 4000 without me playing at all - weird! So 2 races really late last night and I was rank 3.

Now I need to make something of the time I have spent and get some decent drops! My expectations are 320 gear within the first 10 races so I suspect I am going to be bitterly dissappointed.

I did a couple of races last night on the SRL. What a load of cack. At least the rewards are guaranteed to come though, so I can not worry about being crap and just get on with it.

I dropped a 310 No Land Beyond this afternoon, after wanting one for ages. I knew it was poor and somehow I think it's probably worse than it was in year 1, due in large part to what appears to be an ammo nerf as it can only hold 6 rounds in the magazine and 6 in reserve. I can't really understand why they did this tbh, maybe to try and stunt it in the crucible, where people say it's a "monster" - but I don't buy it as I don't think it's even that good there, people just talk it up. It seems to have an ammo drop rate like a special weapon too, so even if you get a kill with every bullet you will run out of ammo as it doesn't drop fast enough to keep the gun working. It doesn't even seem to be that powerful per bullet and any impact staggering effect it has is lost during the laughably slow bolt-cycling animation. It's back for year 2 and it's still cack!

On the upside I managed two challenge runs in a little under two hours.

So what happens to the challenge mode now? Will it revert back to WP? Or could they have a final week (last week of the month) where the raid includes all three previous challenges?

I'm a little sore from Trials - but mainly around my ears from all the "advice and encouragement" I was receiving from Wuddie ;-)

Had a quick lunch time run and was getting 1.5+ KD's and I managed a "Phantom" medal i.e. I managed to kill 7 Guardians in a row without taking any damage at all :-)


Ready for Trials again next week now!

For the challenges - I am 99% sure they will just rotate back to Warpriest - I think an "all challenge" mode would drop too much loot in one Raid for Bungie's tastes...maybe in a few weeks when numbers are falling again.

Aye, we got shafted on the trials last night, but the crap loot stung more than anything. What use is a fking 300 artifact these days anyway? I did sort of enjoy the first run but by the second go I was sick to fk of it. I'll do it again this weekend if anyone is up for it, but only once this time. At least wuddie and me can look forward to our First Curse guns turning up this week, even if wuddie hates hand cannons!

If Warpriest comes up on challenge again I'd like to run it on hard tomorrow night, maybe sneak in a Golgoroth drop too - another stab at that raid chest armour that never wants to drop for me.

Another banger of a night - nightfall with Glenn and Andy, heroic Kings Fall done up to Oryx with Warpriest challenge done, then a flawless run of Crota with a full clan fireteam and finally a heroic strike with clan members, complete with wuddie getting his 3x7 orb in one strike quest done.

Some pretty nice drops overall, especially the raid shotgun at 320 and the raid chestpiece. The flawless Crota run was a right laugh too, probably took us less than 20 minutes on the successful run.
