Assetto Corsa - Time Trial
Discussion
Currently uploading a lap - sadly, I had all manner of issues with the editing software last night and gave up - so you'll have my out lap as well. It's only a 2:17.5 something I think. Fast enough though (my best is a 2:16.6 but I didn't have RSR loaded at the time - it was before the time trial).
I also added the pedals app as it may help see what I'm doing.

Were you doing fancy things?
I use the excellent obsproject to record replays. Better than most, and free!

Not really - I just recorded it via Shadowplay, it was then a normal file but for some reason the MovieMaker wouldn't cut the file and the GoPro Studio simply wouldn't load the file even though it was an accepted format.I use the excellent obsproject to record replays. Better than most, and free!

So this morning before I left for work I simply just started uploading the whole file to YouTube directly - said it would take 4 hours!
Here it is - It was during an online race. I'm on standard softs not super softs.
It's a bit messy in places but it gives a general view of how I attack the circuit.
Remember the bit you see at the beginning was directly from the pits so I wasn't aiming to be fast. Lap starts at 1:55

Oh, I forgot to mention I was a bit drunk doing that. I'd just hit the 2nd bottle of vino at that point.
Tyre temp thing - I forget, I think it was from Race Department or something like that.
I'd just have a Google - there are more complex ones out there.
If you can't find anything - PM me your email addy and I'll forward the file over.

Ok then - Macca F1 GTR, Standard Ring course. Deadline will be next Sunday midnight GMT.
RSR will validate.
One question though - would people be happy to include laps with Mechanical Damage set to 0% - I only as as it really is a git of a circuit to practice if you have to keep starting over and over.
If you start before the 'line' the tyres are cold and the beginning of the lap is pants or you start from the pits and effectively have to put together a 15-16 minute 'lap' each time.
Thoughts please chaps - We'll go with the general consensus.

My first stab two weeks ago got me a 7m33.123 (currently 81st on RSR), but I'll have a better attempt this weekend if I get the time. I suspect those of us with good ring knowledge will ace this - not sure about you Asterix, but I'm creaming it from the start line to the corner after the foxhole (Adenau Forst?) and then I'm pretty much lost from that point on! I used to know it well back in the GPL days, but as they say if you don't use it you lose it...
Not sure I know where that is as I haven't raced on here for years and can't remember any of it really - But I sort of know the first bits but have to look at the map to see where I am later on.I've put the track description on now.

Yuck, I don't know that I can even manage to persist with this.
The best I managed was 8:08 and even that wasn't clean. Half the time I couldn't even make it out of the starting area.
FWIW I got 2:26 on the last round at Spa, which is also risible, although the appearance of the Dream Pack interrupted any hope of proper practice.

Ah OK. I have it on custom so that it autoblips the throttle for me as I am using an old Microsoft sidewinder with no clutch pedal. All aids off inc ABS, as you will see/hear below!
I will try what you guys said and report back later this weekend. Here is the lap anyhow;

The lap is far from perfect, I think someone decent could nail another 15 seconds off that. The problem is that as you get to about 4 minutes into the lap you start taking less and less risks so you don't lose the lap. By the end I am crawling around.
I just blip on downshifts, helps smooth it out - upshifts are fine.I will try what you guys said and report back later this weekend. Here is the lap anyhow;

That time is for SlipStream.
I can't see anything for Turbo_Nut anywhere.
I'm not using a shifter either and I'm fine - it's odd that you're not showing up.
Maybe you simply haven't done a lap it recognises yet for whatever reason.

Starting to make a little progress - it's becoming less like a fast drive down a country lane, and more as if I'm actually on a race track.
Now it's going to get more difficult to improve times. I'm going to have to push harder and increase the risk of an off.
