Also on Epic is Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition again if anyone missed it last time.
Already in my library, and never played. ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Also free right now until 08-Sep-22 is "Submerged: Hidden Depths" which is described as a "a non-combat third-person 'relaxploration' adventure"
I generally don't like 3rd person, mainly because it never gels for me with combat, but for a non-combat game perhaps I will give it a go.

No sign of Shadow of Modor, but Assassin's Creed Origins and Football Manager 2022 is on there.

I do not know how dated it now feels, however Fallout 3 will be one of the free games later today.
There is a shed-load of mods for it, some of which add better textures and the like, so that may help. Even though I own it and played it to death (100's of hours of gameplay), I may pick it up for free from Epic as I have a feeling I can no longer play my copy as it relies on Microsoft DRM servers that were turned off years ago.
edit: I seem to have the GOTY Edition on Steam too. I must have bought that in a Steam sale at some stage despite already owning it
edit: My Steam history says £5.09 in June 2015.

I've never even considered playing Fallout 3 for some reason but having just read IGN's original review it seems a no-brainer to download & give it a go.
Yep - thanks for the heads-up.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
It's a great game for sure; I have a huge soft-spot for it. Yep - thanks for the heads-up.

I can't begin to imagine how much time I sunk into Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Fallout 4. I know it was hundreds and hundreds of hours though. Well over a thousand.
Good to see that it is the GOTY Edition that Epic are giving away, as the Broken Steel DLC (which is included) is pretty much essential as without it the story feels rather truncated, as if Broken Steel was meant to be in there from the beginning.
I kind of envy you guys who haven't played it before. No spoilers, but I wish I could re-experience (for the first time) a certain moment early in the game.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is currently free, if you fancy a bit of 2017-vintage shooty action.
Update: Just installed it and tried to run it, and it tried to install something called "EasyAntiCheat Service" which I refused to allow to install and it won't run without it.
I'll pass thanks.

Is it any good? They've mostly been giving away first person shooters and I'm bored of them. Shadow of the Tomb Raider wasn't that good and then Wolfenstein to follow...
Wait... Shadow of the Tomb Raider is first person? I thought all the Lara Croft games were third person? Surprised you didn't like the Wolfenstein games... the new ones have a good story and some interesting settings. I really enjoyed them.

Well ok, strictly Lara is over the shoulder mostly, but still single player shooting things and the story was pretty thin. After Doom, Doom Eternal, BioShock x3 and Borderlands 3, Wolfenstein was just more of the same and not really as good.Surprised you didn't like the Wolfenstein games... the new ones have a good story and some interesting settings. Maybe space ships will be a welcome change.

Yes, short but entertaining single player campaign and the multiplayer was fun when I had a brief look ages ago. The multiplayer servers might be revitalised with the epic giveaway. Is it any good? One downside that may or may not have been fixed is the control scheme was quite restrictive as to what could be remapped.
Is everyone remembering to check the Epic Games Store on a daily basis? Because there are free games daily right now.
Yesterday was Metro: Last Light and right now it is Death Stranding
edit: I think the servers are overloaded though as I am having terrible trouble getting it.
