I don't recall having many problems killing Caesar and I was around level 29 or less. Boon with a Machete Gladius helped, as did Rex or ED-E (I forget who I had at the time) and I was using a combination of the Gobi in VATs and then a LMG with extended magazine, I think. It was a while since I did it. I was on Normal difficulty BTW

I noticed today that Steam patched my F:NV. I read the release notes and apparently the Gobi has been made stronger. Which is nice as it wasn't cutting it in the end and several quick-fire rounds from the All American was proving more effective.

I stealthily used some C4 in Caesar's tent when I did it - all trace of them completely disappeared! hehe

I'm on normal too, But as soon as I enter his tent I get swarmed by Dogs/Blokes. Boone dies quickly, I manage to run out and kill everyone. But then upon entering again I die.

I may look at another Companion then...

It's bothering me as I need to do it to progress. I kill everything else in the game with ease really. frown

Has anybody gone against the NCR? I went along the "normal" course first, helping the NCR, but if I decided to side with another group, will I end up with loads of enemies wherever I go? I don't like the sound of that.
I'm in the middle of a quest where I am doing exactly that.

Keep some NCR faction armour with you and you won't have trouble with any other groups.

Its actually quite fun going against the NCR. I have wiped out a few of their camps (though they respawn) and also I have taken out the Crimson Caravan company.

I'm half siding with NCR and half siding with Yes Man. I killed Mr House, i have the platinum chip after kicking up a fuss at The Fort. Im "vilified" from Caesar's gaff, and i do have a mission fo find some guys family which requires me to go there.

I'm basically doing as many NCR missions as possible and keeping them on side because i know once i fully side with Yes Man the NCR don't wanna know you anymore.

I'm level 29, nothing really gets in my way anymore, despatching deathclaws for fun with a combination of missles and the big sniper rifle type weapon.

Sorry for rambling, just thought i'd type where im at smile

Can someone tell me, with regards to the Brotherhood of Steel. I've been kindly asked to kill them all - there doesn't appear to be any missions for me to do at the Brotherhood of Steel, it just seems they play a low key role in this game. Is it ok to just take them all out?

its down to £13 in Asda today btw.

i did loads of missions for them, not for a important stuff though. I don't want to reveal too much but I didn't have to kill them (ignored Mr House and the NCR asked me as well)...

Don't worry this is the "spoilers" thread smile I think i did a couple of missions like find a missing weapon from the stores and then i got the leader replaced by some other dude. I dont think its the NCR or Mr House who wants me to kill them i think its someone else. I'll have to look when i next play it.

Bloody hell, everybody's out to get them!

I did quite a few quests with them and helped elder McNamara stay in power. Further in the games Mr house asked me to get rid of them as they would be a threat to his dominance, but as I was good friends with them I got rid of him instead. Then Colonel What's her face said she thought they would get in the way so I should blow them up. I went to talk to them, negotiated a truce (which she was pissed about), and that was that.

I'm currently playing Borderlands, as I missed it the first time round and Steam had a "75% off" sale on and I picked up the GotY edition (game + all 4 DLCs) for £7.50. Bargain. So I probably won't return to F:NV for a while, if at all.

The only reason i'd quite like to get rid of the BoS is to nick all the power armour as it seems to be very handy.

BTW, i've had sex with quite a few women on my travels, (in the game, smile), does this increase your HP? I always do it when i have full health so i never see any benefit.

It's a FPS with "RPG elements". So you get missions quite similar to Fallout (go here, collect that, kill these, discover that) and there is a concept of levelling up and character improvement. But there is far more shooting and combat than F3 and F:NV

I'm enjoying it.

I didn't even get round to the training for the power armour!

I only met Joanna (in Gomorrha(sp?)) who offered sex, not comes accross any others... I must have done something wrong!

I LOVED borderlands, absolutely fantastic game, supposedly even better when played co-op, though DON'T get it for ps3 if you want co-op(I did), it just doesn't work right(annoyingly), works fine on xbox though.

Great game, weapon combat is first class and the endless supply of new guns in chests that are all different means you get sidetracked looking for the perfect gun all the time. Buggy is a sod to riceat first but a great laugh.

About 30 hours into this now biggrin

A couple of questions.

Weapon mods ? Where do these appear or how do I get them. I haven't seen a single one yet!

As soon as I walk into the silver rush building in freeside (the one that sells arms) I get blasted away! I didn't even know I had annoyed these people, why are they attacking me ?

What can you use to kill deathclaws. In Fallout 3 I used the dart gun to slow them down but the dart gun isn't in Fallout:NV so I have no way to slow them down! They just tear me to shreds.

Where's the best place to find some nice armour. I'd love the power armour from the Brotherhood of Steel, but I accidentally wandered into their bunker in the middle of nowhere and they stuck an explosive collar on my neck and told me to deal with an NCR ranger. I don't really want to do this as I'm quite popular with the NCR. Right now I'm using recon armour which I think has a rating of 17.

Most annoying enemy in the game so far for me has to be those flying bugs that infect you with a poison! I'm sick of having to use antivenom trying to kill them. Them and Deathclaws.

He's in a bunker, and apparently nobody (from the NCR) knows his whereabouts, so just do what you have to do.

I think it might depend on your companion. I've had the two different scenarios. Isn't one of the companions an ex BoS person?

Oh yes, good point. I had her with me when I first encountered the BoS bunker
