When SCS release their new game "Fleet Driver Manager" I am going to be ace at it.
LOL

Next year they are bringing out a rival to Sim City called Town Planner. As it's a simulation you have to brass your citizens off by stupid traffic schemes and bleed them dry with crazy town centre parking charges and fines. You win the game when Chief Executive is awarded a knighthood and you've failed to evict gyppoes who've been camping on the local playing fields for the last decade.

People still playing this?

I'm stuck in a ditch and need help!

I've cancelled my job at a huge cost, but still remain stuck.

So far my only idea is to chop the truck in, but not really keen on that.

Any other ideas how I can get back on the road?

cheats method, load a saved game before you dropped it off the island.

otherwise press F7 press enter and accept a tow to nearest garage, also costs a packet.

I think if you still have your load at that point they also tow that so you don't have to cancel.

One addition to the game I would like to see is the option, when you have quite a few depots and drivers, to drop off your trailer at one of your depots and assign one of the other drivers to finish the delivery. Be quite handy if you've run out of hours and running late.

and hookers...

Can't load a saved game. I don't think - I'll look into that.

Can't call recovery because I have not broken down. I'm running how long it will take to run out of fuel at idle. Pity I just filled up!

You can call recovery.

You won't run out of fuel on idle - it works in a miles driven basis.

Press F7 then enter will return you to the nearest city, regardless of vehicle condition.

it really did not.

I've found the autosave feature now, and gone back to the start of the drive.

Restoring an Autosave has got me out of a few scrapes and massive damage to trucks. I have not played for a while, I am not sure where to go with the game now as I have maxed out on garages/drivers (116 drivers including me) so money is building up with nothing much to spend it on. The only other thing to do is to cover 100% of the roads (upto 85%ish now).

I may do some mods to get back into the game and to do something different.

Is 116 drivers the max...

I was aiming for a garage in every city, but the recruitment agency says "no drivers come back tomorrow"

Doh!

Oh we'll looks like its time to replace some of the crappy renaults and ivecos on the fleet for 680 MANs, my truck of choice, just nudgeing the Scania top line for top position

It does look like 116 is the max, I was planning on having a depot in each city as well. I am starting to hunt out roads that I have not been on before now.

Hunting out roads, I couldn't figure out why most of the network showed as having been driven yet a figure of 68% ish was displayed. Quickly realised you have to drive each road in both directions. frown

Right how do you cheat on the money side of things?

My hard drive died last week along with my save game (20 odd drivers & trucks and a few garages). There's no way I'm starting again.....

bit of advice for a non computer gamer type.

will my computer run ETS2?

thats what it says.

Minimum:
OS:Windows XP
Processor:Dual core CPU 2.4 GHz
Memory:2 GB RAM
Graphics:GeForce 7600 GT-class equivalent
DirectX®:9.0c
Hard Drive:2 GB HD space
Sound:Direct-X compatible

"Recommended:
OS:Windows 7
Processor:Dual core CPU 3.0 GHz
Memory:4 GB RAM
Graphics:GeForce GTS 450-class
DirectX®:10
Hard Drive:4 GB HD space
Sound:Direct-X compatib"

my computer is some standard 3-4 year old HP thing,

running windows 7 64bit
Pentium(R) Dual Core CPU e5400 @ 2.70GHz
should be 4gb ram, computers telling me 3, unless its accounting for operating system.
all ive got is a built in graphics card: intel(R) G41 express chipset

i know i wont have super awesome graphics but will it at least run and look moderatly ok? also has anyone used a g27 wheel with it and if it works?

You may be able to run it on minimum graphics settings as your using on board graphics typically with no dedicated RAM. I think it may be a little bit of a struggle though.

With regards to your RAM situation, sounds like your running 32bit of your Windows OS (as this can only read 3.xxGB RAM) 64bit is required to run anything above and have use of it.

Also bare in mind that a onboard graphics card will typically take/user your normal pc RAM so although you may have say 3GB RAM 1GB of that may be shared to the Graphics so could struggle further.

I have an Acer Aspire E1 with an i3, intel HD graphics, 4gb RAM, and whilst it runs very smoothly, the graphics are just about acceptable but I wouldn't want anything lower than that so your HP might struggle to run it..

yeah i felt i would be struggling a bit, shame, i read through this thread a while back and saw it on the steam sale and really want to give it a go, especially using the g27 wheel, but i know it wont be worth playing if it wont run smoothly and the graphics are terrible.
