Thought I'd try my luck with the engram and I get a warlock helmet!!! Fat lot of good that is. I now have more exotic pieces of armour for the characters I don't have then the one I do, I am really starting to get pee'd off with this s
te randomness factor. How hard is it to make sure stuff I get is relevant to my class? Perhaps not everyone has the time or inclination to grind through the same old levels to get 3 characters. Destiny 3 parts brilliance and 7 parts frustration and yet I still keep playing it!
On another note I managed to fully upgrade the Last Word exotic hand cannon. I currently have no other exotic weapons to compare it against but it is awesome, really hard hitting, it will fire as quickly as you can pull the trigger and it even works surprisingly well in PvP. It's become my favourite weapon and I really hated hand cannons before this.

Sounds like some people finally got some good gear from the Raid tonight?
It's fair to say the Raid isn't being kind to me. I've lost count of how many Raids I've done with my Warlock and Hunter, including Hard mode, but still don't have even the basic set of 3x armour to get me to Level 30 for either.
I do have 52 shards and 35 energies though.

The raid was kind to me for sure. Apart from the usual shards and energies, I got a legendary void sniper and Atheon's epilogue (which i wanted more than any other gun in the game!) I got lucky with my exotic engram and got a warlock elmet so, Chest armour and boots would have been great but, I'm not complaining! It's fair to say the Raid isn't being kind to me. I've lost count of how many Raids I've done with my Warlock and Hunter, including Hard mode, but still don't have even the basic set of 3x armour to get me to Level 30 for either.

What with all that and picking up two exotic primaries this week, this has been a stellar week for me lootwise

Not tonight but in general yes, we would need 3-4 30s to be effective. I know me and Youngsr are 30 but not sure on others. It's possibly with 29s but not enjoyable as they get one shotted by hobgoblins.
The only time I've beaten Atheon on hard is when there were 4x level 30s in the team.
There are a few level 30s knocking around, but we'll also need level the 29s to have maxed out Raid weapons to take out the Oracles too.
I do have the Atheon hard checkpoint on my Warlock if anyone fancies a go between now and Tuesday morning - early afternoon tomorrow (Sunday) works best for me?
Great VoG run last night fellas. Chuffed with my haul of a raid chest piece and the Praedyth's Revenge.
Level 30, here I come!
I've got quite a few legendary sniper rifles now, though:-
Praedyth's Revenge- void damage
The Chosen- void damage (FWC item)
The Supremacy- solar damage (and better stats than all of the above!)
Broken Truth- arc damage
And another in my vault from the Queen's wrath with arc damage.
Good job I like sniping.
Happy to jump into another shot of the raid, this afternoon, to help out, If I'm around.

Definitely concentrate on maxing out Praedyth's Revenge - it's a good sniper, but critically it does additional damage to Oracles which is essential in the Raid Hard Mode, which is where you've got the best/most chance of getting decent kit.
