Dragon Age Inquisition
Discussion
This Friday honestly can't come quick enough for me. I've a few days' holiday to use up so have booked it off to get into the game properly (Sad I know!)
New Trailer
I've rolled a human rogue with twin daggers in my 6 hour trial and that's been fun so far with some very nice stealth attacks as you'd expect. Bit squishy though so will need to get a decent healer into the group.
Can't wait!

Does anyone know where you get the flames of war DLC items from?
Flames of the Inquisition Weapons: - You receive one weapon when you wake up in Haven. That weapon matches your chosen initial class (Archer rogues, for instance, receive a bow)
- You receive all schematics for the weapons when you reach Skyhold. It is in a chest in the Undercroft.
- You receive improved schematics after completing more plots (Adamant and Halamshiral: spoilers, but those are the two).
- Similar to the weapons: One armor granted at the start to match class, all armor schematics when you reach Skyhold, better later.
- Mounts in general are unlocked by completing the Master of Horses quest in the Hinterlands region.
- With mounts available, access the war table in Haven. Operations will be available regarding bonus mounts. Send a specialist to handle the operation and once it's complete you will have unlocked that mount.
- In Haven, click on the post at the corner of the makeshift stable beside the smithy to select mounts. In Skyhold, the stables are at the lowest level of the castle’s exterior, near the merchants.
I was planning to spend more time on Destiny, but I've found the single-player mode is dull and repetitive, so was happy when DAI appeared.
Thought it would import some data from previous Dragon Age games (as the other games did to give you a slightly different background & dialogue options, but I couldn't see anything obvious when I started playing it.
However I found the Dragon Age Keep online which lets you customise the back story (whether you owned the previous versions or not) so that you potentially get a slightly different experience.
The only downside is that the new 'experience' isn't used until you start a new character/game - and I don't feel like throwing 12 hours of gameplay down the toilet at the moment.

How does the control mechanism differ from the last one?
Don't did not play the last one as I heard it was rubbish + old PC at the time = was not worth the risk.I've got use to them now.. but riding horses is so bad its funny, zig zagging all over the shop.
Cant understand why the controls are not like every other third person game, i.e mouse for direction, w for forward, s for back and a&d for strafe. Right click to look is a royal pain in the arse on a laptop.
I wonder if the devs realise that a lot of players are missing out on the wonderful scenery because the camera is pointing at the ground...

What size is the environment compared to Skyrim?
Slightly difficult to compare as the game seems to be made up of 10 or so sub-environments that you travel between. Each is larger than the entire DA2 game environments combined. It's probably of a size and just as stunning with some wonderful variety.Don't do what I did and spend too long int he first proper environment "Hinterlands" as I'm pretty over-levelled now (Just been to Val Royeaux for example which is the second story level and recommended for L4-7 and I was L12)!
There's so much to do in the game it's a real time thief
