Anyone know how long MS take to send back your repaired console it's going to Germany? The prospect of longer than a day without COD4 is painful. It's my 7PM 15 minute treat getting in from work.

It can take a while but I've always been lucky and had mine back within 4-5 working days.

I don't know. Mine went pop about 2 days before Xmas yikes

I switched the TV off, got up, drove to town, bought another (Arcade) base unit, came home, plugged it in and off I went. Xmas without Xbox: I think not!

Should get the other sent off I suppose.

This is the 2nd one of mine to break. I would buy a PS3 if it was not for the fact of having to complete all the rankings again in COD4.

Exactly what I did, got bored of 2 days without the box so went and bought another. I'm such a lazt I've not even sent my old one to be repaired yet. I want to send the old one in the new box for protection but am a bit concerned it'll get stolen so might wrap it in brown paper or something?

Same here mine took just under 2 weeks to come back.

I didn't realise you could just buy an arcade one and stick the HDD on it? Is that really the only difference between a normal 360 and the arcade version???

MK4 - they specifically state that faulty units shouldn't be returned in anything resembling Xbox packaging for the very reason they could get half-inched.

Use a jumbo sized Cornflakes box and LOADS of bubble wrap...

I'd say allow for 3 weeks. Anything less is a bonus. You should get a month added to you live subsrciption aswell.

I'm not sure they're ever nicked because the people that come collect them (UPS?), are so used to collecting 360s that they store them in a specific part of their warehouses for mass transport to Germany. They always come and collect them from your hand so its quite unlikely that they'll be nicked.

Thats good to know as it had crossed my mind smile. Do they send you a code or something, or is it linked to your live account already?
