New GTL league
Discussion
Chaps,
We don't seem to all be getting in the same place to race anymore. And when we used to we had lots of fun. I think the majority own GTL and so I think we need a new GTL league. I said to Dave that I would try and sort something out for it this week if I got a chance... I can sort a webpage for schedule/results at the weekend I hope. I just wanted to post to generate ideas.
I think:
Sundays, 8pm (or 9pm?)
GTC65 cars excluding GT40 and cobra
"random track" (ie we have a pool of tracks but we select one randomly on the night - no practicing that way!)
two shorter races per night no qualy orsuperpole qualy (or what I would call concurrent superole - one quick lap each but we're all on track at the same time to save time) for the second race.
I think 2 shorter races are better. That way if you screw up early on in the first race you have something to hang around for! if you have one hour long race then if you screw up its easy to get disillusioned.
What do people think?
PS I also think we should have a regular "rfactor night" on, say, wednesdays(?) with a few tracks and mod named each week. We've made our donations towards the PH server so we may as well use it, and not all of us are at the moment!

I agree, the GT-65 or whatever it is minus the crazy cars. You can change car between races.
Tracks will be totally random and all mod addon tracks that may be used will be announced before our first race.
rFactor: Wednesday nights V8Factor again on Random tracks?
OR.. to spread things about, maybe a completely random race: cars and tracks random and will be put onto the server in advance. Again, mods will be announced before the race to give you time to download them..?
After a few rFactor races, we could vote to keep a set vehicle series and run a final few races with JUST those cars.
Dave.
Hi guys,
great idea, it's time for another league
9:00pm is fine for me.
I like the idea of random tracks but could we maybe limit the randomness a tad by having a pool of maybe 10 or so tracks, so at least people can familiarise themselves with the tracks. While it's not fun when you only just know your way around a track and others have spent the last week learning every nuance and detail, and are able to lap you within minutes. It is a lot more fun when you at least know which way the next corner is going to go and weather to take it in 2nd or flat-out in 5th. This is going to ring especially true if we are only doing one lap or no qualli at all, so no time to learn it. Personally it seems to take me ages to remember a track.

Right!
I'll have a server up for this tomorrow then? Things seem to have come to a standstill..
It will be open car to one of the GTC-65 class but NOT the GT40 or Cobra.
Track will be RANDOM. But I will probably stick to a 'popular' well known one for tomorrow with this being new?
Starting time: 8PM
Which gives plenty of time, plus the fact that our rF races have been 8 for a while so trying to be consistant!
PS. If you fancy some rF now i'm on MSN...
