Would a suction mount for a GoPro 1/2 be totally compatible with a 3 (white)?

Yes. The connection to the housing the same for all of them, so all the mounts are interchangable

So, I bought one of these in america last week. It's tiny, amazing.

I'm only just back and have noticed my laptop (quite old now) is completely unable to play the 1080p 60fps video I took, just way too slow. So i'm going to try on my girlfriend's newer mac in a bit. But guess I'm going to be needing a new computer.

The other thing I've noticed is that the battery life is crazy bad. I'm not sure you could get more than an hour of footage on one charge. Luckily spare batteries were only $20 so I bought another one, but still.

Anyway, will report back once i've done some editing/viewing.

Worth trying a few different players, my little laptop can't manage 720p 25fps with Windows Media player or VLC but manages fine with DivX player

Yeah no, Quicktime actually did the best effort, then VLC then WMP. But my laptop is from 2004. Core Duo, it's a sad time.

my WDTV does a pretty good job. I just need to edit the videos down to a regular format, going to use final cut pro on my OH's laptop.

Looks like a cracking deal!
Does anyone know where I could get a composite out cable for one of these? Do the older go pro cables work with it?
Thanks

In the US at the moment, almost impossible to find the black edition in the stores, however I'm not going to buy it at the moment as it seems to have a lot of issues and is getting some pretty bad reviews, not quality wise, more around GoPro releasing a product that isn't ready and also has many reports of bad battery life and wifi connectivity issues.

Yes - I am trialling a loan one. The Steadyshoot feature does stabilise the rolling shutter effect at 1080 so the image is better than a HD2 Gopro but i do not have a HD3 to compare against. However, the sound recorded (for my purposes) is disappointing as the mic is locked inside the waterproof case. Battery life is good but the unit is bulky when inside its waterproof case which it needs for mounting anywhere. The wifi is useless - very very slow to the point of hanging up on a live view but does sort of work if you just use your smartphone to control the camera functions. I am in the the US so if I buy it without the wifi feature then the price is a reasonable US$199. I have lately seen it discounted to US$175 without the wifi which is starting to look good for the quality. With wifi the price seems to stick at $299 - not worth it given the bugs in the wifi and the sound recording limitations
