How are people transporting their Phantom's?

I'm loathed to pay £250 for the 'official' case...just wondering if anyone has found any alternatives?

There's a similar one on ebay for about £85 I think, so might just go for that

I've got a peli style case mine came in when I bought it used, unfortunately whilst it's a good case the chap appears to have used his feet to cut the foam out! I might get a new set. I've a couple of Pelis kicking about too, may refit one of those.

Finally got the FPV set up working properly tonight. I'm not great with electronics (being colour blind doesn't help lol)...

What sort of price are we looking at Boro, and do they qualify for ph10?

And have I missed something? You can't use your go pro with the dji gimbal?

Edited by jon- on Tuesday 3rd June 12:48
Ok, so you can't use the DJI gimbal with any camera other than their camera. Which is annoying if you've already got your go pro.

What other options are there for the phantom 2 and a gimbal?

Hey Jon, there is a Phantom 2 which is specifically for GoPro Hero 3 or 3+.

This is the one we have as our demo unit and the Gimbal is awesome.

haha yeah just a bit!

I've had my Phantom Vision 2 + for a few days now (thanks for the email Boro but I couldn't get my deposit back so just stuck it out with them)...having never flown a quadcopter before I was a bit apprehensive.

After a few basic flights in nice wide open space I think I have the hang of it now, enough so to be flying under bridges and doing smooth circular panning shots around things. My dad however decided that instead of flying it he would trim the hedge...luckily it survived!

Could do with a few more batteries, I have 2 but I could happily be out flying longer than the batteries allow!

So far the pictures and video have turned out awesome...will be doing some proper video following enduro bikes around soon.

I think this is the best gadget I've bought so far!

Glad you got yours quickly Andy. Once you realise how much fun they are you definitely need more batteries to make the fun last longer. Did you go for the extra battery at £50 or just the standard package?

Yeah got the extra battery with it. Have just bought some prop guards just in case whilst I'm still relatively new to it all.

Now just to go to some interesting spots and get some pics/video put together!

Here's a pic straight from it of my work...it's set on wide angle hence the distortion but a quick edit in Photoshop would sort that out

That's the package I'm looking at.

Did you have any RC flying experience at all?

I done lots with R/C cars, but never anything that flies .... apart from a Co-Axial Heli, which wasn't much cop TBH.

Probably looking to buy over the next couple of weeks or three, anyone know of any good deals?

Nope, no RC Flying experience at all really other than cheap helicopters. I just took it really slow to start with in a nice big open space.

Got used to sensitivity of the controls and them reversing when it's facing you. It is really easy to fly though....just don't get too cocky too soon!

I think on my 3rd or 4th flight I was flying under bridges over water and through trees.
