The thing that really attracted me to the show this year was picture of a B2 taking up about 50% of the available space in a poster I saw - you saying there's not gonna be one of those silky beasts?

The B2 isn't in the programme this year. I can also categorically, unequivocally, and with complete confidence assure you that the B2 hasn't featured in this years poster campaign.

Yertis, what's the best route from Bristol, bearing in mind I'm unlikely to be able to get there as early as 7.30am?

You have three options - up to Cirencester and pick up the signs there. Or along the M4 to J17, up to Malmesbury and turn right to Cricklade along the B4040 (which used to be a great road until pointlessly restricted to 50 along most of it's length), pick up signs there. Or along to J15 and then up the 419. I'd avoid that last one though as it will be clogged up with everyone from the South East.

I think Cirencester is best on show days.

1) There was definitely a picture of a B2 on an A3 sized (or thereabouts) promo poster behind the bus driver on a local bus I took while in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago. And it was definitely for this year's tattoo.

2) The morphing Flash banner at the top of the Air Tattoo web site also features a B2.

You can call it anything you want - I call it misleading.

Sorry, butt I think you have unrealistic expectations about RIAT's ability to guarantee specific aircraft participation. As Supraman has already said, the flying programme was only confirmed this week, and that's not a guaranteed thing. Posters and stuff will need to have been prepared ages ago.

Fair enough.

Has a B2 ever been seen at the Tattoo? I know the F117A has made appearances, but only then I understand in the air.

There's probably no chance of one of these things being viewed on the ground.

Oh, and I was also hoping that an F22 would be in the participation list, but it seems I'm outta luck.

I seem to recall they pulled a stunt when the B2 had just entered service whereby they announced over the tannoy that a suprise appearance was being made by the "stealth" bomber. Then proceeded to play a lot of jet engine noise through the tannoy - cue everybody looking up to see the B2 and either laughing or thinking "blimey that's good"...

I've only seen posters featuring Eurofighters this year...

The B2 has flown over the last few times I've been - In fact I think it might have landed one year, but maybe that was the F117

The B2 made an appearance 2 or 3 years ago - Although I was not at the show the return flight flew straight over my house at what seemed very low level (I could see various vents, panel lines etc)

It made an unbelievable sound, not especially noisey (although it was not quiet), just I have never heard a jet noise like it. The whole street came out to look minutes before we could even see it.

It would be great to see it again.

Cheers

The B2 has overnighted at Fairford I think in 98. I've got a load of real photographs somewhere, unscanned of course .

Scary moment for the RAF Typhoon. Nearly crashed during practice

It doesn't look as scary in that pic as it did in real life - he sank lower than that and blew a whole pile of dust into the air. He sort of lost it a moment before that though - I thought it was going to crash on my bonce.

I'll post up some pics when I have a moment (not of the Eurofighter unfortunately).

I've posted some pics here.

www.ukar.co.uk/board/ikonboard.cgi?s=ba9717624267b87221824380ea0c2fdc;act=ST;f=10;t=4902

I got one of my arrival day photos that I printed out signed by the crew yesterday.

I now have a photo of the 51 sqn Nimrod with 6 signatures and "Regards 51 sqn" on it

A couple I have cropped of the B1. An aircraft that creates its own weather.

Other than that they are as straight out of the camera.

Those are great pics Supraman. Were you sat in the FRIAT enclosure?

No, Just to one side. Near the burger vans etc, not far from the toilets.
