Being new to toying with photography, and having recently borrowed a decent camera I have taken this. Put it here as this month’s competition is a British summer’s day and this was an Italian summer’s day a few weeks back.

However rather proud at my first attempt with no help from Photoshop

Of the two the penguin is the better shot, I think I commented on it when it was first posted in random photos. Not sure how it ties in to the theme though, so the daisy shot might be better for the theme as we're not just judged on technical brilliance smile

PS Some nice shots there toothrot

Agreed, The Penguin is lovely but doesn't quite tie in with the theme.....!!

Well I went out both days this weekend shooting for this competition and came back with nothing.

I really can't nail landscapes, so I'm buying a 10-20 to help hehe

Nice images BigDub but a little remote to the theme of ths months competition. Keep them in mind if a wildlife subject comes up.

I particularly like the otter picture, Rob. I didn't appreciate the leafy framing until I viewed it full size.

A very British Summer

I'm not trying to be clever, but a typical dull day and most people still made the most of it!

Are these along the right lines - if so which one if any?

Blondemoment, not on theme for the comp but that's gorgeous! I have the same - this is my old boy Max:

We could always start a dog photo thread!

No.1 court at Wimbledon; although perhaps being devoid of umbrellas makes it less typically British smile
