Nothing too exciting - one of these funny extendible arm flash holders - it works with the twin heads on the MT24-ex. I'll get a pic up at siome point smile

(with the normal arrangement I was finding the flash was too close to the subject and bumping into it or whatever it was sitting on when at higher magnifiactions).

PS - what's been up with you lately ? Nothing much been posted...

Sounds good. I was thinking of trying out macro with ring flash a wireless triggered flash off camera. It'd have to be a patient bug though. hehe

I've been absolutely snowed under with work. I've not used my 5D for a proper day of shooting or a proper shoot since I bought it. Gutting! Work load eases up as of mid May so I'll be back on it.

I'm going to have to do something pretty special - I'm falling behind on gear these days. I really want to try a microscope adapted on to a DSLR. Look at the sort of results you can get:

You're either mistaken or a very cruel man. I'm still sporting the 100mm non-L. hehe

I got bored and stuck my camera in Jeff's tank. It's not perfect focus wise, I just like the colours!

You sod. hehe

I'd love to buy it but after the upgrade to the 5D I have no hope!

Hang on, you get them in the summer? Your profile says the south. South what? Asia?!

Great shots. They are amazing and fascinating. So friendly. Do you handle them much?

Mine loves to sit on my hand.

Just ordered a second-hand Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 L IS USM Macro from MPB Photographic. Got it down to £550 after trading in a couple of old lenses that I never use. biggrin

Is a flash essential for macro shots? I'm pretty new to close-up photography...

Nice work - great bit of kit thumbup Better the the poxy non-L that Rob uses anyway biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

A flash is maybe not essential per se but virtually all serious macro togs would use one - you need a decent amount of depth of field hence a smallish apertaure (say f11-f16), you also need a fast-ish shutter as the bugs are liable to move (say 1/200). These two things would normally mean using a flash. Then you're into diffusers etc to keep the light nice and soft - it's never-ending hehe

Ahh that makes more sense!

I have a 10-20mm Sigma for sale. I bought it to do a job, used it about 6 times and it has been sitting in its pouch ever since. I'm not sure if that'd be of interest to you.

I have had one before, sold it too someone on here actually (was it you DD?) as I'd bought the Tameron 18-270 which was pretty good for anything wide outside, but need something for some house interior shots, which I think it might do.

could you take a shot inside a 4m2 room at your house? biggrin

On a FF, I.E my 5D, you can take a shot inside a cupboard and practically see all four corners. hehe I'll prove it if you like!

Yes it was - cracker of a lens. Only sold it when I 'upgraded' to a 10-22 which was actually no better hehe

No, it was alive. They don't seem as active as "ordinary" woodlice. Hope your son gets better soon!
