Would like to but couldn't get the time off work
Originally the holiday chart at work was booked all last week and this coming week.
Luckily someone dropped out last week which allowed me to get time off.
Fairford isn't that local to me either, I did about £40-£45 fo fuel on each of my trips.
Early mornings aren't good either 5.30 start on Thursday and 4.20 yesterday.

The B2 and the F117A have both landed at FIAT. I think it was 1997 but i could be wrong as it was a while ago.
I distinctly remember walking along the static display, then suddenly everyone surging forward, i turned round, and a F117 was being towed after it had landed, it did a display later on (my first impression was "my god it's tiny!).
The B2 was there as a static display, with a 200m cordone around it, with lots of very mean looking US Military enforcing the cordone. This too did a display later in the day, and was a beautiful sight. I do have photos somewhere, but aren't scanned.

Thanks LB, much appreciated. When I first saw the Chinook one on the computer I was thinking about cropping it in tighter but decided in the end that I liked the clouds in the background so left it as was - didn't think about it giving some reference as to the horizon, but you're right. And yes, it was very impressive. The whole show was incredible. If I hadn't already planned to go elsewhere on Sunday and wasn't quite so knackered afterwards I would have loved to have gone back yesterday. Next year, definitely next year.
Having really enjoyed this one, are there any other air shows later in the year that people can recommend?

On another note, this talk of the B2 and F117A reminds me... Was there not an airshow a few years ago where the B2 did a fly past only for the Rapiers also on display to track it across the sky leaving the USAF spokesperson to explain how it wouldn't normally be flying so low and wouldn't have been picked up at normal altitude?
Questions should have a question mark, shouldn't they? D'oh!

Lexsport - Stunning photos. You've done a fantastic job. The Chinook is the best IMO, because you got the clouds in to show the horizon. What an angle!
Also the formation of red arrows where the tailplane is glistening in the sun.
Top work fella

Sadly not such a good shot, but this was the maximum angle he got to
