I think the Tone Mapping adds to the effect of this one.....
I am sure a lot of you will remember the "Headington Shark" embedded in a terraced roof in Oxford back in 1986. The sculptor, John Buckley, was also responsible for the "Nuba Embrace" located in a field North of Reading. 4 years after finding-out about it, I finally got to take a few pictures mid 2020.
Thirty years of fighting has left the indigenous tribes living in the Sudanese Nuba Mountains on the edge of survival, what some relief groups are calling an ethnic genocide. Buckley was struck by the resilience, despite their suffering, of the people he met and created this incredible work to call attention to their plight.
