nice to see some new posters
eta Started to stop using flash now, the above was shot with the modelling light from the flash set at camera right:
So next purchase is some dedicated contiuous lights.
Dogsey like the 2nd shot as I find props like the phone too gimmicky but thats just me.
Carter, any story behind that? And Kirbyfake the 2nd one again lovely expression. Funk like that one a lot
forgot to say flatplanedcrank of the set of that guy that one really stands out, where was it taken? I keep thinking its johnny depp (or however its spelt!) from Pirates

I know what you mean and I wouldn't have normally used anything, but she was playing with the phone at the time and I really liked the light and the pose.stigmundfreud said:
I love that one Stig, however the colour balance looks very slightly too yellow to me.Something about baby shots at the beach today, boss has been showing his and that one up there is good due to the anonymity

noise is not a bad thing, the more digital progresses the more people strive for noise free images
still, at 6400 on the 5dmk2 that would have had no noise... Canon, shoot the best
D2x bad - D3 good. still, at 6400 on the 5dmk2 that would have had no noise... Canon, shoot the best
Show us your 6400 ISO pics!

ok ok its 3200 for the first one but its hand held and under the most trying lighting for noise at high iso
click to unsquish
And now for the big guns, yeah baby
ISO 12800 hand held, you can bow and call me Jesus for I shoot with Canon and it is God
back to 3200 again
the only software I have is the free canon stuff as I am broke (they were shot with the 2.8 70-200)
Do you hear that noise (pun)? Thats Nikon crying
Get that bigboy of yours out and get some proper high iso grit back in your life. Of course it wont be as silky smooth as Canon but you buy cheap you know how it is
eta yes I noticed now I focused on the old microphone and there is some slight motion blur but by that time of night I'd had a skin full!

yeah but in whos opinion. I think the problem is that people forget the joy of noise since no one shoots hp5 pushed to 1600 then developed an extra few minutes. Now everyone expects noise free, to me thats losing soul.
TBH I am blown away by the 3200 iso, compared to some shots by Kenp at the same speed I'd say the canon appeared ahead, at 12800 I think the shots are as good as 1600 on my old 5d.

hi Diesel head, nice concert shots, the self portraits did you take them or someone else of you?
If someone else had taken them then they wouldn't be self-portraits, you div. Edited by stigmundfreud on Sunday 23 August 11:16

Was looking at some pics I had taken with a view to PP some but could come up with no real ideas, anyone care to give some idea's on this pic to give it a bit of pop.
Was shot using reflective umbrella so lost a lot of contrast, anyone care to give an opinion.
not usually up for doing much of this but here was one subtle change...the skins gone all plasticy and off hue but Was shot using reflective umbrella so lost a lot of contrast, anyone care to give an opinion.
