Have just seen a new 70D from a UK seller (Park Cameras) that comes in at £589 once the Canon cashback is factored in. Am I likely to see cheaper than that for a new, UK based seller in the next few months?
Seems like a really good price to me - go for it ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
PS - probably not relevant as you are going for a crop, but if you still want a 24-105 I am selling mine!
If you haven't already got one I would recommend 100% the Canon 17-55mm f 2.8 IS lens. It's fantastic lens, wide enough for landscapes, and enough focal range at the top end, the f 2.8 aperture along with IS means you can get shots in conditions that would otherwise need a flash/extra lighting.
These are all taken at f 2.8, no flash, low light, hand held using my 550D. Since buying the 17-55 it's been barely off the camera, though it doesn't have a red 'L' ring it's built well, my copy has survived been dropped twice from table height on to a hard floor!!! I also picked up mine second hand for about £300....Its probably the best £300 Ive spent on camera gear![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Am going to have to hang fire on the body for now, forgot how much it costs to tax big engined derv's and that had to come first. Watching a few auctions on eBay, if I see one that looks like it'll go for around £500 I might chuck a bid on - or if I see one new (UK) for £550 in the meantime I'll sell a kidney or something.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Cheers but having done some more reading up I'm settled on the 15-85 now. gangzoom said:

I've heard very good things about the 17-55 and I'm a big fan of fixed aperture lenses, but I want a bit more reach than it can offer for isolating scenes when doing landscape work. From what I've read the 15-85 is on a par with the 17-55 IQ wise for much of the focal range and only a smidge below for the remainder so I think that'll be more in line with what I need, much as the 17-55 looks like a great lens.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
