HELP pls Canon Ixus Software prob

Hello all,

i bought an ixus 50 a few weeks ago, and after reinstalling my pc, i can't get the software to work! It just says, installation failed. The cd is a bit scratched, but only a bit- could this be the problem?
If it is, i was wondering if anyone can give me the software- only the update is available from canon.com..

If all else fails, how about contacting Canon and asking nicely for a new disk. It certainly sounds like this. Although you haven't mentioned any major changes to your PC/OS which might affect the drivers.

Pop the driver on and ignore the rest of the software; the stuff that comes with WinXP will do you just fine.

what he said. I've never used the software that comes with a camera - infact I've never even connected a camera to my PC. I've got a memory card reader so I just whack the card in that and copy across then put the card back.

If you install the canon software you end up with a load of crap you don't need. The only half decent bit is the photostitch thing but there are better ones available.
