In no particular order, and only a few as I'd hate to bore you all.

Glad you enjoyed your little holiday. I can hear the photo judges salivating over the heron picture now...

You know I can never resist a little crop

Very impressive Martini, I like your style. The first one is lovely!!

Greg

I spent the weekend at the British GP and like a muppet, forgot to take the camera on BOTH days. Brain does not work very well at 7am.

So why is it I post up a dozen photos and hardly anyone comments? Are they really that bad, or have I upset someone and been sent to Coventry(del Sol )

They're very good.

However, I have a question for you and the rest of the PH photographic community: what do you do with all these great photos you take?
- sell them?
- print them out, frame them and put them on the wall?
- have slideshows for your neighbours?
- hide them away in long forgotten directories on your hard disk?
- all of the above.

Just curious - I know that there aren't many occasions when I go back to look at my (admittedely nowhere near as good) efforts.

You're not alone in having that happen, I think the problem is there's so much to choose from no-one actually replies because they don't know where to start. Maybe there should be a voluntary limit of 3-4 photos for each thread starter ?

I nearly did. I started by thinking 'that's nice, maybe a bit more contrast', then scrolled down 'that's nice... that's a bit flat... OK... bloke should be looking the other way...' and by the time I'd got to the bottom I'd forgotten what I'd thought.

Thing is, it's easy to say 'That's excellent' but constructive crticism takes longer/is harder, especially if there's nothing much wrong with them, which there isn't.

Why do we post photos?
1) This is interesting and I just wanted to share it with you
2) I think this is really good; do you agree?
3) This could be better; what's wrong with it?

You see, all your photos are generally very good, so there's not much I can say apart from '' which you pretty much knew already or you wouldn't have posted them!

(IMHO the parajobbie is the only dud)

Oh yeah, and the heron!

Fence on the sand dune or the sun through the rushes are my faves.

Can't really critique your photos - you are better than me and come up with the goods more often than not - I blame location
