Through a bit of luck, I've managed to pick up a Sigma 75-300 f4-5.6 APO Macro zoom, in very good nick, for £20! :D

First impressions, it seems to be pretty good, much nosier than my 18-70 (D70 kit lens) when focusing, but not that much slower, the only thing that doesn't seem to work is flash, ie slow-synch, rear curtain etc, all else seems fine.

I've just got to get used to handling a long lens now, and my tripod technique could do with a bit of practice...

Anyone know when these lenses were produced? I've searched high 'n low on t'internet, but can't find any info!

nevertheless, very happy, could not ask more for £20! :D

That is indeed a Billy Bargain. Probably your bargain of the year - Lucky Git

I had one that I used with my Canons between about 1997 and 2000 if that's any help.
