We have a painting in a museum which we would like a full size print of. The museum have said that we can commission a photographer to take a picture of it for us.

But we are not after a wee print for a book, we want a full size print.

Is this possible from a photographer? What should we ask for when discussing the commission from a photographer, such as specifications? Any advice?

Any of you folk here fancy the job? It's in Glasgow.

Cheers.

I shoot fine art for a large national gallery.. a combination of stuff for catalogues and reproduction..

if you are after a full size image for reproduction we would use a multi-shot back which delivers true colour rather than interpolating the colour info. that combined with distortion free lenses will give you what you need.. a 500mb file which can be used for repro.. it will knock the socks off a scanning back. drop me a line if you want to know more..
